Enchanted Hill Jelly Bean (Rare Harlequin Appy)

HuacayaJr. Herdsire (Male)Beige, Medium Fawn
AOA# 32316865DOB: 9/17/201311 yrs
For breeders of quality appaloosas or other fancies, Jelly Bean is the one to add to Herdsire Row. Look at the wooly face, short ears and muzzle, the balanced conformation, and the lustrous fiber that goes all the way to the toes. As a yearling, his fiber is developing a light grey appearance, meaning that this guy is not just an appy, but a Harlequin appy. Check out how many of these guys you can find for sale--and with this quality. Also take a look at the pedigree--El Moustachio, Peruvian Platinum, Chiquita, Hannaruh, Rockford, and Pperuvian Felix, not to mention Queen B Bodacious! Then, check out those spots! Jelly Bean has appaloosa on both sides of the family so he could become that rare appaloosa herdsire that is homozygous for the appy gene, meaning that every last one of his crias will get a copy of that allele. How great would that be?!

Dam: Senna's Zoey

Harlequin Appaloosa

Senna's Zoey

HuacayaOpen (Female)Dark Fawn, Medium Rose Grey
AOA# 20022211DOB: 4/2/200519 yrs
There are less than 20 lines of appaloosa huacayas in the United States. Five of these lines resulted from heterozygous suris that produced appaloosa huacayas. Zoey is indeed a rare find, because she is one of the few "original" appaloosa huacayas, born to an imported huacaya dam, with her sire being the result of a pregnancy in an imported huacaya female. On top of that, Zoey is full Peruvian. As with most harlequins, Zoey was born as a fawn with dark spots. Within the first year of her life, the fawn was replaced with dark rose-to-silver grey. If one looks closely, the original spots are still discernible, especially on her wildly-spotted face. If you like having one of kind, Zoey or an offspring could bring that to your herd. Presently Zoey is bred to a fawn, A.L.Paca's Blitzer, and has a good chance of producing an appaloosa cria. In order to keep our herd from growing too large, Zoey will be for sale once we have an offspring from her in our herd. After this next cria is born, Zoey will be bred to one of Enchanted Hill's appaloosa herdsires. That should definitely give us some striking crias. Stay tuned for the latest updates!

Description

Hughey is from multiple appaloosa lines, both of his parents, and most of his grandparents, were harlequin appaloosas. Of all of the wonderful appaloosa genetics he has, one of them makes him very special, and very rare. His dam, Zoey, was the daughter of an import and one of the original true huacaya appaloosas in the US - from a very rare genetic called Peruvian Century. Only a few farms in the country have this appaloosa genetic. Hughey is registered as fawn because he was indeed born fawn... but he is now turning grey! His dense fine fiber, rare genetics, and harlequin color make him an ideal stud for Fort Joy. Thank you Annie Hunt and Vickie Sutton for this lovely boy!
