Apache was a cornerstone of our herd for over five years. He now has 41 registered offspring many of which are in our Rare Gem herd. Follow the links below to view his amazing, colorFULL progeny. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Oh, my oh my! Apache is a proven herdsire with 28 cria on the ground! Sometimes words just aren't enough. If you are looking for an appaloosa harlequin stud to cover your girls and create something truly unique, look no further. This boy has it all! Apache's pedigree is packed (on both sides) with outstanding appaloosas and harlequins. It is highly probable that Apache is homozygous meaning you do not have to breed him to another harlequin or appaloosa to get a good chance of producing an appaloosa / harlequin offspring. A definite plus for those breeding for spots. With 28 offspring now sired by Apache, we have a pretty good picture of his expressivity. Of the 28 offspring on the ground (December 2021), 27 of the dams were solid colored (not appaloosa or harlequin). All but 2 of the 27 offspring are either classic appaloosa or harlequin. That is an expression rate of 93%! Ironically, the one appaloosa female that Apache was bred to threw a solid. Apache is as sure of a bet as you can get when looking for these uniquely colored / patterned alpacas. Apache's sire, Windspun WSA Patriotic Gentleman, is an appaloosa as well. He's a blue ribbon winning male that sports a beautiful fleece and strong confirmation. Patriotic Gentleman's sire is the multi-champion Hobby Horse Farm Great Expecations making his grandsire the well-known SA Peruvian Black Epic. Apache's dam, Excelsior's High Voltage Tazer, has an equally impressive background. She's the harlequin daughter of two very well-known appaloosas - NWA/Hearsum Paulo and Cookies and Cream. In May 2021, Apache's appaloosa offspring took 2nd Place - Get of Sire at CABA. UPDATE: For the first time ever, this highly expressive stud will be made available Summer of 2022. We work with international buyers and can guide you through the process. If interested, please don't wait... contact us now!

Looking for a Loving Retirement Home for Daisy... Daisy is a gentle soul with a big heart, and we are looking for the perfect retirement home for this special girl. Daisy is the daughter of 6X color champion, Accoyo America Jason, co-owned by Amber Autumn Alpacas and Little Creek Farm, LLC. Lynn Edens, co-owner of Jason, shares that Jason is the product of a very successful pairing of Camilio siblings. He won the AOBA Nationals championship in brown three years in a row and is known for his remarkable crimp, character, and density in his deep red-brown fleece. Jason’s legacy extends beyond his color, consistently producing champions in fawn, brown, and even competitive white classes. Daisy's dam, Accoyo America Shastina, was a beautiful white female from Gregory Mecklam's breeding program. Though her show career was brief, Shastina earned top placements in competitive white classes, including a 1st place at The Futurity, before her untimely passing at just six years old. Daisy joined the Rare Gem Alpacas herd in February 2021 at 10 years old. She has previously produced three lovely offspring and has been a delightful presence on the farm. Daisy has a super sweet and affectionate disposition, making her a joy to be around. Daisy has blessed us with one handsome cria here at Rare Gem. While she no longer shows interest in the boys, she has a heart of gold when it comes to nurturing young ones. Two years ago, when one cria wasn’t getting enough milk from her mom, Daisy’s maternal instincts kicked in, and she started producing milk to help nurse the baby. She continues to love being around crias and will often "adopt" them as her own, showing just how nurturing and caring she is. Daisy deserves a special retirement home where she can spend her golden years comfortably. She thrives in mild climates and does not do well in cold winters. If you are looking for a gentle companion who will add love and warmth to your farm, Daisy might be the perfect fit. Please reach out if you think you can offer Daisy the wonderful retirement she deserves.

Description

Congratulations to Rhonda and Bart Leinberger of Indian Point Hills Alpacas. Rhonda and Bart purchased Huckleberry as a weanling with his buddy Midnight. The Leinberger's have gone on to show Huckleberry in a variety of shows and report they are very happy with him and his results under "tough competition". Huckleberry has always placed 3rd or better at these highly competitive shows. Go Huckleberry! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This handsome young male is out of Accoyo America Shasta Daisy. Daisy is the daughter of 6X color champion, Accoyo America Jason. Jason is co-owned by Amber Autumn Alpacas and Little Creek Farm, LLC. Owner, Lynn Edens, comments on Jason... The offspring of a very successful pairing of Camilio siblings, Jason won the AOBA Nationals championship in brown three years running. It is rare to find such exquisite crimp, character and density in a deep red brown fleece. Even better, Jason has consistently reproduced those characteristics in his crias, and at such a high level that even his white offspring are consistently ribboning in the competitive white classes. He has produced champions in fawn and brown. Huckleberry's sire is the highly expressive and wildly spotted harlequin appaloosa herdsire Apache Gentleman. This line carries legendary appaloosa / harlequin genetics on both sides of the pedigree. These exciting genetics are in high demand and several of Huckleberry's siblings have been exported to Europe. Huckberry is a solid youngster-- straight legs, lovely head style and a bright, dense, fine medium fawn fleece. Huckberry's harlequin appaloosa sire throws appaloosas and harlequins >80 percent of the time. Unfortunately, Huckleberry only has two visible spots-- both black. One spot is on his ear and the other on his front leg. Due to Huckleberry's minimal spotting, he is being offered at a greatly reduced price for these genetics. Huckleberry is currently in Colorado with his dam, Daisy. She is being breed to 3X Champion, appaloosa herdsire-- Alchesay-- an Apache son ;-) ! Huckleberry is available to purchased now, but cannot depart to a new home until he is completely weaned ~ September 2022. For potential mid-west and east coast buyers, plan now to save on transport before Huckleberry returns to California in the Fall.
