Call us nuts, but we are offered one of the BEST black Snowmass MR Sizlin Rose offspring ever produced here at Red Granite Ranch at the 2017 Futurity Auction, which he later won the Black Color Championship (Helping his sire win Reserve Herdsire Of The Year) the same year with his new owners the next day and our black boy got Reserve. Saying we lost a good one, was a huge understatement here. Red Granites Innsbruck is a True Black male out of Our Peruvian Fashionista, a True Black multi blue ribbion and banner winning dam. His Sire, Snowmass MR Sizlin Rose, is a 12X Champion, including the 2012 Brown Male Futurity & Brown Male AOBA National Color Champion. MR Sizlin Rose was also the 2016 Futurity Large Breeder Division, Herdsire of the year -- later won the 2017 Futurity Large Breeder Division, Reserve Herdsire of the year Dark-Colored Offspring. Innsbruck placed first at the 2016 Futurity as a juvenile, to add it was his first show. Innsbruck has a well-organized and uniform, dense, fine fleece. He has a high-frequency medium amplitude crimp style which extends down the sides of his legs. The individual staple structure is made up of smaller well-defined staples. Innsbruck's conformation is true and strong with heavy bone structure like all of the Sizlin Rose lines. He was the perfect male to introduce into our Black/Dark Breeding program and would have -- no doubt -- created stunning crias with many of our dams but hes now working for his new owners and creating some fine babies. His true black daughter is a Judges' Choice winner and took home the 2021 Futurity Black Color Championship win, and she already has multiple championship wins under her belt. Congrats to Fiber Meadow Alpacas on those wins, by the way. We are very proud of how this male is representing our Ranch and we couldn't be happier for everyone! He originally sold to Stellar Alpacas, LLC at the 2017 Futurity, but was later aquired by ALPACAS of Tualatin Valley, LLC a few years later and they now co-own him with LaFinca Alpacas. So congrats to those farms!

Description

THOR FARMS MORRIGAN BY INNSBRUCK Morrigan has an impressive lineage! She is the daughter of Red Granites Innsbruck, a 9X Black Champion who also won the Judges Choice award at the 2018 CABA Classic. Her paternal grandsire is Snowmass MR Sizlin Rose, an exceptional twelve-time champion, including the 2012 AOBA National Alpaca Show Halter Color Champion & 2012 The Futurity Halter Color Champion. MR Sizlin Rose was also the 2016 Futurity Large Breeder Division, Herdsire of the year -- later won the 2017 Futurity Large Breeder Division, Reserve Herdsire of the year Dark-Colored Offspring. Her maternal granddame is Our Peruvian Fashionista, a 7X Champion MFI Peruvian Jericho daughter. Her dam is Snow Diamond Brandilyn, winner of the Dark Female Color Championship at the 2016 California Classic. Morrigan's maternal grandsire is 8x champion, Accoyo America Jason, who won the AOBA Nationals championship in brown three years running (2005, 2006, 2007). Morrigan recently brought home a blue ribbon from the 2023 TxOLAN Bluebonnet Stakes (out of a class of 9) Judge Helen Testa's comments: "The first-place winner is edging out the group in terms of that fineness. She's got a very fine fleece. The density is great for the relative fineness and when I get into the fiber, I'm working it down into the extremities and seeing the same expression of architecture. So just super, super softness to this fleece. The highest degree of fineness in the class, so congratulations to you. She's nice and level in her top length, squared off in her appearance, so congratulations on your first place." In 2022, Morrigan won first-place and Reserve Champion from the 2022 AOA National Show - Walking Fleece. She also received a Blue-Ribbon at the 2022 CABA Classic (**Ranch mate Majestic's Ellie was Reserve Champion). Offspring: On 5/22/24, Morrigan presented us with a handsome beige male sired by 15x Champion & 5x Judge's Choice winner, Crescent Moon's Paulinus.

Awards

4th Place, 2022 AOA National Show: Halter, Full Fleece Huacaya Dark Brown Female Juvenile (Class of 9) (Judge: Nick Harrington-Smith)
3rd Place, 2023 TxOLAN Sweetheart Spectacular: Halter, Huacaya Med. Brown Yearling Female (Class of 8) (Judge: Robin Nasemann). Judge's comments: "This was a very good group all the way down to 6th place. It was very tough to judge because they were so even in quality across the whole group. Very, very beautiful in style and also very uniform in micron. If you look at my sleeve, the samples are very similar in micron, that's very positive to see and also conformationally strong, so well-done. She is very compact; I like the compactness of this alpaca. I like the head style. The proportions are very correct, so that's positive to see. She was quite fine, nice staple organization, definition and density."
