GLR Rastamon is the densest (Follicle Density 68, micron 20.9) blackest, true black that Brad and Jandy have ever produced on the ranch. His sire is Shavano, is a true black 1/2 Accoyo Black Color Champion. His mother, LCA Jaimica, is a 5Peruvian Silken daughter, one of Snowmass Alpacas very favorite dams, and one of the reasons that they bought Jaimica from Jack and Kelly Armstrong a few years back. This guy is jet black with no tipping, what so ever, and very impressive in conformation and in bone. He stands upright and proud, even as a juvenile and was awarded the Reserve Black Male Color Championship at his first show, at seven months old, at the 2010 AAA Futurity. His first crop of kids produced plenty of Color and Reserve Color Champions and the second crop followed suit. In theory, based on his fiber stats and pedigree, we hoped that he would step up the quality of his offspring to another level from his dad, AAA Futurity 2010 Herd Sire of the Year, Shavano. So far we are more than impressed with his kids and have him bred to more than half of our foundation females for cria in 2014! His offspring in 2015 earned him the title of AAA Futurity Reserve Dark Herd Sire of the Year. GLR Rastamon is closed to outside breedings, however, for the right farm we may consider 1/2 interest.

Koko, sired by Condor is one of the last of her kind. This is another youngster Brad and Jandy purchased with the idea of breeding her to Platinum Marquis when she grew up. She did not disappoint - Her first cria was a beautiful grey Platinum Marquis female, GLR Kiva who was first in her class at the 2008 AAA Futurity, won AOBA Nationals 2008 Grey Female Color Champion and is full of presence and just as beautiful as can be, even still. Kiva had the greasiest handle and the most extreme luster as a youngster of any grey we had ever produced in our program our first 28 years. Koko's 2010 cria, GLR Kokolatte is a dark silver grey, super lustrous Synergy daughter was a member of our 2011 showstring and the Mapaca Grey Reserve Champion and a AOBA Nationals Grey Color Chamopion before she retired to be one of our very favorite modern grey foundation females at home. Koko has just been one of those girls that produces great cria no matter who we breed her to. When bred to black or grey or brown she makes a killer cria. Her 2016 cria, sired by Picasso looks to be another promising member of our 2017 show team even at two months old.Stay tuned!

After purchasing Roy's daughter Royanna at a young age and felt she was destined for greatness. Moving forward to 2021, Royanna and her 1/2 sister Mari were National and Futurity Champions. Impressed with Roy's production and my desire to work with darks and greys, I felt Roy was the obvious choice as Knolveston's grey herdsire. He has great confirmation and a tremendous amount of luster all while maintaining fineness throughout his entire fleece. It's hard to beat his genetics as he comes from bloodlines of some of the top alpaca producers in the US. His sire, Silver Granite, has won 12 Color Championships and is quickly becoming one of the top grey herdsires in the US. Roy's full sister Sandra was the 2017 Grey National Champion as a Juvi!
