XXXtreme Xclipse has received 4 Judge's choices and 8 color championships including 2013 Futurity. Xclipse spent the summer, a couple years ago, in Oregon at Amanda VandenBosch's farm, Flying Dutchman Alpacas. Amanda loves this male and bought 12 breedings for her own herd. He is one of a kind. Norm Evans did a skin biopsy on Xclipse in April 2013. His true density is 89.5 follicles SQ MM of skin. One hundred secondary fibers averaged 17.1 microns while 50 primary fibers averaged only 22.8 microns. This equates to a mincron variation of only 5.7 microns. His density, gland presence, fineness of both secondary and primary fibers as along with narrow spread place Xclipse in the top 1% of males evaluated by Norm Evans. Edison is a beautiful, fleecy copy of his sire, MFI Armoire. Edison's fleece has been described as " the definition of density" and multiple times as " a carpet" most notably by judge Wade Geese. Edison does not mind standing still and allowing us the pleasure of burying our hands into that wonderful soft, dense fleece. He continued to produce fleece with a very nice staple length even at 31 months old and his fleece is a dream to work with. At 2 years old his AFD was still 19.9 with a SD of 3.5 and CF of 98.9. He has wonderful conformation and excellent bone structure. He also has a very nice personality and has passed that onto his progeny. He brings many wonderful lineages to the table including 4Peruvian Legacy/ Snowmass Millenium, Jeronimo and others. Eddie began his show career late but consistently took a first place in his class. Edison has several progeny on the ground one of which is here at the Buckeye this weekend; take a look at Northern Blessings Freyja. Edison has been consistent in producing color when bred to color. We have not genotyped Edison but have had 2 of his babies genotyped. Northern Blessings Edward is Ee Aa3. and Freyja is ee a2a2. We can assume that Freyja inherited a black allele from each parent. We think that he is a very special boy!
