"Run for the Roses" was born on Derby Day and this guy is the deepest reddest gray we have ever seen! When he stood up he was already so proud! When he was dry we could see he was covered in fine crimpy curls. Roses was only shown twice and he took a 2nd and a 3rd in competitive classes. We think he has terrific potential to make maroon and rose gray. He also has some of the most gorgeous patterns in his fleece. His yarn is a stunning color. His father is Tamerlane was a half accoyo rose gray, 5 time blue ribbon winner. His mother Daphne was the deepest maroon color you would ever want to see with an exceptionally fine fleece. Yarn made from Daphne's fleece has take blues in 3 skein competitions (Empire, MAPACA, and PAOBA) and she is 10 years old! In one show her skein was the second highest scoring in the show. Talk about lingering fineness, well she's got it! His paternal grandmother is Pistol and she is our top dam and this is her gorgeous grandson! Roses has come back to our herd sire row and we couldn't be more pleased. We are looking for a half interest partner on Roses. If you are interested give us a call.
