Deacon Greys Smokerise is out of the famous Mile High Deacon Grey and our new girl La Buena Vida's Sweet Romance. We are extremely pleased with him. At his first show at Empire Extravaganza, he took a 2nd behind an A.L. Paca boy. Now that would normally be saying a lot - to come that close to one of Doug's boys, but truthfully there were only 2 in the class. However, the judge was Sharon Loner, and she said that Doug's deserved first because of his growth and fiber, but then she talked about Smokerise and couldn't stop talking about the promise that he showed and once he got his first shearing. (he hadn't been shorn even though he should have been shorn on the west coast in the spring). She went on about that this boy had full potential to be a huge herdsire. The coolest thing - was that we didnt' realise till after the show - that she was the breeder that made Deacon Grey!!! Smokerise is now a proven herdsire. See what he can do for you!!! Rosehaven's Peruvian Cassandra is the 'criation' of two champions -- Snowmass Casanova and Derwydd's Ch'ulla. She is a beautiful girl who has turned into an exquisite lady. Cassandra has had a gorgeous male cria - who is presenting brown but has grey on his face and ears - and we think he may go Rose Grey. Okay - we are grey breeders - so we can hope!!! Regardless he has great fiber - and still very young. we might be breeding her to triple of tres this spring We have had to retire Cassandra. but she is still the friendliest girl!
