LHSA Beau's Sebastian is our son of Black Beau of PVA. If you have considered breeding to improve fiber genetics, such as fineness and spread, Sebastian would be an excellent start for any farm. Don't just take our word for it, take a close look at the elite bloodline of both his sire and dam.
Sebastian's density is 56.75 follicles /sq. mm, with a S/P of 9.6. His secondary fibers average 16.9 micron with primaries at 23.2 micron. He has a spread of 6.3! Sebastian's AFD is 17.9 and his EPD numbers placed him in the top 5%. His fiber shear weight averages between 5-6 pounds.
Sebastian has a balanced medium frame and his weight averages between 130-140 pounds depending on the time of year.
2020 is LHSA Beau's Sebastian breeding debut! Currently we have bred 3 females with him as the sire. We eagerly await the outcome based on genetics and fiber stats.
Sebastian's pedigree includes not only his sire Black Beau, but Diamonte of PVA who is still winning 1st place at age 16 years!
Sebastian's Dam LHSA Superstition's pedigree includes Snowmass Nautilus (EPD Top 1%), Peruvian Macgyver, AND Crown Royales White Knight! A word about the health practices at Long Hollow Suri Alpacas… We take the health of our herd seriously.
• All alpacas are vaccinated annually, and bred females are vaccinated 30-60 days prior to birth of their cria.
• Fecal flotations are performed on EACH individual alpaca monthly and treatment is completed on a per alpaca basis.
• All alpacas receive monthly injections as a precaution against meningeal worm.
• Bred females receive an ultrasound at 30 days performed onsite by a veterinarian and our veterinary technician.
We interact daily with all our animals to ensure any medical needs are addressed as needed and this improves their socialization.
