Lakota is out of TWO appaloosa parents. Is he homozygous? We think so. His first kids hit the ground in 2020 and all were spotted. We bred a number of females to him for the 2021 season along with some outside breedings and he delivered every single darn time. We love Lakota for his sturdy frame, very solid fleece character (fineness, density and character) and sweet temperament. He has a nice array of spots to share and so far he has shared them well. Did I mention his fleece quality? Its noteworthy. And he passes it along. We have some amazing kids to preview and photos will be posted shortly. We are offering a limited number of breedings through 2024( 5 to be exact). So if you want to jump on a relatively guaranteed outcome with an amazing guy - please contact us! 9 year histo update: 23.5/4.7 :)

A Diamond In The Rough Harlequin

Firecracker's Disco

HuacayaOpen (Female)
AOA# 30565029DOB: 8/15/200717 yrs
Disco is a diamond in the rough indeed! Her sire is Brutus's Firecracker, who is out of the imported full Accoyo 6Peruvian Accoyo Brutus. Her dam is Little Lilly, who is an Appaloosa/rose grey Harlequin out of Aussie Colorado Dillinger! There are the likes of Don Julio, Presidio, Caligula and Felix in her lineage! Disco has won FOUR 1st Place ribbons and a Reserve Championship. She has had two cria, but has never been bred to Appaloosa or Harlequin. Her fiber stats are incredible: AFD 19.1, SD 4.3 at 3 years old AFD 19.1, SD 3.7 at 6 years old AFD 20.7, SD 4.5 at 7 years old AFD 21.4, SD 4.5 at 8 years old! She really is a DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH! Disco was bred to our beautiful Harlequin Picasso's Peruvian Spotted Clown and had a lovely female Appaloosa cria in late 2016. It will be interesting to see if her coloring changes to grey/Harlequin. UPDATE: Maggie was born! She is Harlequin!!

Description

OO LALA this boy is out of one of my favorite harley dams - Firecracker Disco. Disco is a fine and wildly expressed harlequin who is also a ribbon winning reserve champ. She has never had a solid colored offspring which means her propensity for throwing the gene is HIGH. And his Sire? One of our favorite and currently restricted boys Lakota (who we believe is homozygous). Lakota has an extremely well organized and fine fleece and he has consistently brought forward color, spots and gorgeous fleece. We haven't tested Ulysse's fleece yet but you can see his organization and density from across the room. And he is bright and fine. His spots are plentiful and dark. Ulysses is being offered with two of his closest friends as a jr herdsire package for the appy/harley breeder looking to launch into the spotted world. Each of these guys is unrelated and each has their own high propensity to throw spots given their dam and sire. IF any one of these boys is homozygous for the gene? Its a game changer. If ALL of them are? Outrageous. Ultimate flexibility in pairing and production. Look for his pals Triple Threat and Camanchaca. We love each and every one of them.
