Where to start about Tango? He is in our jr herdsire row anxiously waiting to get his turn to breed. I'm not sure who is more anxious, him or us! He has been healthy and energetic since he came into this world. His dam is one of my favorite dams of all time, Autumn. She herself comes from a rare harlequin carrier, Ppperuvian Betty Jane. Tango's sire, Shasta Springs Kodachrome, inherited his spots from his import dam, Tilama-Chapoco. Put them together and we got Tango! His disposition matches his good looks, too. With two tries, we got him to jump in the back of our CRV and don a rose garland and take part in a wedding in Nov 2018. It looks like he will be breeding in the fall of 2019 and we look forward to that! His fiber stats aren't too shabby, either. He is a big improvement on his sire and that is what we are aiming for. His cria will be awesome! He is not related to any appaloosa alpaca out there. This is one to keep an eye on.

Description

Alpaca Reserve Quija is loaded with powerful Peruvian genetics. Quija’s sire is the legendary Inti-Sapa and her dam carries Hemingway lines-- what more could you ask for in a gorgeous beige female! An Inti-Sapa daughter out of a Snowmass Cchatanca (Hemingway) daughter with Accoyo Pinachi and Accoyo Vengador on the granddam side. Quija has nice crimp, good fineness, good bone, excellent coverage, a very pretty head…all attested to by her first place ribbon at the 2011 Gold Country Gathering! On November 18, 2014 Quija had a gorgeous female cria out of Derwydd's legendary, prepotent stud, Manchu. Quija's outstanding fineness and density, coupled with Manchu's super-density, proved to be a powerful combination. All those lovely fine colored and Accoyo genetics crossed back against Manchu! Quija has turned out to be a great mom with lots of milk. On November 27, 2015, Quija had a top quality tux grey girl from 4x champ silver grey herdsire, Sebastian! WOW! In 2018, Quija produced a handsome cream and light fawn boy from appaloosa sire, Escher! He has her fantastic fleece!
