SA Brown Sugar

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Rose Grey, Dark Rose Grey, Bay Black
AOA# 35560876DOB: 6/7/20187 yrs
With enormous eyes & a constantly in motion nose, SA Brown Sugar is always doing something with herself. She has fantastic movement, good structure & a fantastic fleece, & enjoys flirting with the boys on the other side of the fence because she knows that irks them Brown Sugar has stunning conformation, a dense, springy fleece, spectacular toes & bite and is one of the larger female alpacas on the farm. She is shy, hanging back at the back of the herd, but her curiosity overcomes this quickly with routine. One of her favorite things to do is rolling, and she's always in the dust piles, cleaning her coat with yet another layer of dust and looking so pleased at herself. She is a roller, and often looking out into the field there's always a cloud of dust somewhere because she's rolling Sugar had a fantastic 2019 show season, starting in February in North Carolina at the CABO show and onward through November at the VAOBA show, with her fleece taking multiple awards both in walking fleece and in fleece shows. She took second in the AOA Fleece Show in Tennessee with a stunning presentation of fiber that the judges adored (the first place winner was stunning as well) Registered as a bay-black, Sugar is starting to gray out and is now closer on her neck to a light or medium rose-gray, which on her is a stunning color when she charges through the fields with her companions. Her 2020 fleece is showing a lot of lighter fibers, hence we've changed her colors above to more suit whatever she could be called now, which is no longer a true bay-black. It will be interesting to see what she produces, as her sire's black with gray genetics and her dam's fawn, and with her graying out this will be fun Sugar has been confirmed bred to Stillmeadow Farm Jamison (fetus seen 9/21/2021) for a November 2021 cria so we're hoping for a little one with as stunning fleece as Sugar has

Rolex Gold Brody

HuacayaMaleMedium Fawn
AOA# 35271208DOB: 4/20/20187 yrs
Brody has a compact body type coupled with awesome fleece characteristics. Fiber everywhere, square and sturdy frame, he stands right up and lets you know he's there. Combine that great presence and fiber characteristics with a laid back personality, this guy is what we are breeding for. His staple length is long, with density, fineness and that amazing staple character we wish they all had. And he tops all that off with a magnificent head! Brody is the offspring of his awesome multi champion brown dam LMFI & MFI Peruvian Beonka, and his white multi champion dad, Rolex Legend whose fiber is absolutely exquisite. As a juvenile, Brody went to his first few shows, walking out with 2nd place in some very competitive groups. As a yearling, he grew up and really came into his own and took Fawn Color Champion at the VAOBA Fall Derby and Reserve Champion in the walking fleece. We were hoping for more springtime shows, but alas, the shows were cancelled due to COVID. Brody continued to grow and mature and although he still has a compact body type, he is packing on that fiber like a champ that he is! Brody has sired two crias so far, a female with 3 firsts and a reserve fawn halter color championship and the male was purchased from us as a juvenile. Brody can add fawn color and exquisite fiber to your herd for many years to come

Description

SA Brown Sugar's first cria, and she is ADORABLE! She looks as if she's going to look like her grandmother & inherit that dorsal fawn color, with her black toes & her faded black nose and attentive ears. She is leggy, and ultra-curious...we've never had a cria with this level of curiosity & she has to know what EVERYONE around her is doing, even the falling leaves, and is always on the go to find something new. Here at almost 5 months now and she's getting more and more beautiful. She looks as if she's going to settle into the light/medium fawn, with gorgeous crimp and length currently, as well as that curious nose that must still know what everyone's up to and what they're doing. Her conformation is solid and she's going to be a knockout in the ring this fall.
