Alpenglow Alpacas and Delphi Alpacas went in search of a silver male - that would complement our herds' fineness, brightness, and uniformity - that would maximize character and fleece weight - that would exhibit the typey style that the judges look for. Our goals were to improve fiber production in every capacity, while at the same time producing top show alpacas. Lofty goals - but we found him in Gray Enough. I had the joy (and challenge) of color checking him for show, when I first met this beautiful boy. GE is pale silver gray - that can best be appreciated against a white background. He has a distinct silver cap and silver legs as well. His first crias include a platinum gray female, just a tad darker than GE himself, from a fawn dam. And now his first crias have arrived at Delphi and we are over the moon with their quality. GE's pedigree cannot be topped. His sire is Annual's Bea-2 Bomber - Bomber is well known as the .38 Special son with his own wall of awards - now sire to an ever growing list of his own Champion crias. Now imagine matching Bomber up with an equally impressive dam! They did. GE's mom is 16 time Champion Orlando's Carly Cloud - full sister to Ringo Cloud. We are so excited to have this rose grey girl come to our farm. Her dam shows a strong history of fineness, especially for a grey. Her sire, Avatar, has gifted her an exceptional fleece of fineness and feel. Extremely Fine, Bright, consistent high frequency crimp. With her incredible background we are excited to have her as a foundation for our herd. She has now gifted us two crias in back to back years. Her first was out of the great IKE, from Delphi Alpacas. We got a super fine and super soft, just what you'd expect from Ike, daughter out of this breeding. She is dark brown, but she has a spot of grey on her back hind quarter. There is color there for sure! Her first year fleece carried a 14.3 in AFD - a 3.4 SD - and a 23.4 CV. Tina knocked it out of the park on this one! Her 2nd cria is a Modern Rose Grey Girl out of our very own Trebicon. It proved to be a perfect match and we can't wait to watch the fleece develop. She has density with a touch of grey that gives her a uniquely superb fleece. For Tina's girl, Prestina was the obvious name! *** Update *** Tina's 4th cria came on Memorial Day 2021!
