We really are "gobsmacked" by this boy, purchased from Bev and Jason Brehm of Rogue Suri Alpacas! Coppola has had a terrific show career, earning 4 championships (both halter and Walking Fleece) at level 4 or higher shows, plus his first RC at the Alpaca Breeders' Invitational, and beating out his "old man" (Nico) for Color Champion at the 2017 California Classic! Now that he is shorn, I can really get my hands on his fleece---he has incredibly buttery ropey pitch-black locks that are distinctly well-defined and lustrous. It's almost unnatural--I've never seen anything like it. And who ever heard of a True Black male in the TOP 5% EPD for AFD!! His dam, WAP Showtime, is a multi Champion (including Futurity), sired by WAP Bet on Black. She is one of Rogue Suri's best producers. And, of course, Coppola's sire is the fantastic GLR NICO!!-- a multi Champion in his own right! Earning a whopping 12 Championships in halter, fleece and well into his 4th year fleece! Maxine came to us after breeding to the stunning Nico son RGSA Coppola, and produced our beautiful Poppyseed by Coppola in April 2021. Now she is re-bred to Derwydd's Accoyo Ch'aska multi-champion herdsire. We can't wait to meet her new cria in Spring 2022! UPDATE: Maxine's 2022 cria is a beautiful boy Maxine's Enigma! He has soft, lustrous, silky fleece and a friendly, charming personality. The 2017 EPD calculation moved Maxine to the top 10% for 3 traits. And she holds her position at Top 10% in 2021 at the ripe age of 12! Maxine is a Champion female and she is the dam of Eldora's Kyoto, a 2 time Judge's Choice winner and 3 time Champion and Best Lock winner. Maxine is a good, calm mother and milker.
