Uniform Fleece with abundance of length!

Sir Galahans Legacy Zappa

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White, Light Fawn
AOA# 32803655DOB: 9/9/201311 yrs
We are very pleased to have Zappa on our farm. Zappa is the full package and we are please with what is seen in his offspring in the abundance of length. Where do we start in describing this guy? His fleece is phenomenal in many ways, uniformity from head to toe in coverage, density, volume, amplitude with heavy crimp and brilliance. His fleece is extremely soft to the touch, you just can not keep your hands out of it. Zappa has the sweetest personality with his human friends and is quite the gentleman with his alpaca ladies. Zappa's First Cria arrive July of 2017 a fabulous male, his fleece is very promising, the brightness in his fleece is impressive. Looking forward to seeing his fleece after shearing in 2018. Zappa has several babies on the ground, two will be ready for breeding this year with Zappa's reputation of producing long staple length, his babies show it. His daughter's have over four inches of growth on them now November of 2020, just had to measure their growth while they in in the breeding pen. Update on Fiber Density results: Data Details: Density, 63.5 / Secondary: Primary fiber ratio 10.6:1 In-skin mean primary fiber diameter 24.5 / Standard deviation 2.8 In-skin mean secondary fiber diameter 21.0 / Standard deviation 2.6 Test comments: The density number is moderate and while the two fiber population averaged, range and uniformity are higher that one would like to see it is important to remember that this male is 79 months of age.... It is generally accepted that working males will tend to move their fleece micron to the higher numbers after 60 months of age and along with that come an increase in standard deviation.

Fiona is one of our favorite breeding females on the farm! She is hands-down the best mom! She even wet nursed a bottle-baby we had! That in itself is of incredible value to a breeding farm! Fiona's fleece is so soft! It spins like a dream! She has crimp, fineness & brightness! Fiona is a sweet, sweet mama. She is halter trained & walks on a lead no problem. And she will eat pellets from your hand! She is the perfect breeding female to start your foundation herd!

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Dark Brown
AOA# 36115068DOB: 10/7/20204 yrs
Impulse is stunning in every way! We saw in at Nationals in 2022 and had to have him, and his fiber has improved since then. Impulse was a breeding to Irish Meadows best production Dam Ivy's Honeysuckle. She has produced 3 National Supreme Champions!! Irish Meadows Elite Max, Irish Meadows Lexi, Irish Meadows Ambrosia, and every offspring she has produced is a multi champion!! His Sire is none other than Avalon's Jacob Black. Sire Jacob Black 19 Time Halter Champion in True Black! 2012 has been good to Jacob Black. Every show he went to, he was the Color Champion, and it didn't matter if it was the Futurity or Nationals. He finished 2012 with a stellar 19 halter champion banners! Jacob Black has great conformation, a beautiful fleece, and a handsome head. His true black fleece is extremely uniform with a very expressive crimp style found normally on white animals. His personality is laid back and gentle. Jacob Black started showing when he was 9 months old, and since that time, he bannered in every show he went to, with the exception of a blue ribbon at the Futurity when he was 10 months old. Jacob is not available to outside breedings. He will be an exclusive, restricted herdsire for our black program, and he will join 15 time champion Knight Rider in producting show winning blacks. Update: Jacob Black wins Reserve Dark Herdsire at the 2015 Futurity and the 2016 Futurity! That is a fabulous achievement! Update: Jacob Black's crias are outstanding, and many of them are already champions themselves!
