Ranger is the son of CCNF Cameron, the multiple champion true black herdsire that has one of the top three black fleeces that we have ever seen in our years in the business. We rarely buy breedings to unproven males, but we were in line when he opened up. Crossed with our best black female, Black Opal, we got exactly the fleece we were looking for. There is nothing lacking; fine, bright, dense, and structured. We also got a few things we didn't entirely expect, like the white accents, but hey, if he is puting his fleece on girls, we can work with that! Of his first eight cria, seven are solid dark brown or black, and one is a beautiful patterned gray out of a gray dam.

Description

Well, KCF Mystify is an interesting outcome from a very nice pairing of Snowmass lines that we run here. The sire, KCF The Lone Ranger, is an old CCNF Cameron son that we still use occasionally to pull color from the darn-ist places. He certainly has the genetics, confirmation, and fleece attributes that we are looking for in our program; and although we were reluctant to show him at halter back in the day, his fleece placed first every time out and he won fleece banners at 2 of his 3 shows entered. As stated, he has been very dependable color-wise, throwing nothing but dark brown and darker, including several dark silver gray's..... until now that is.... But we are not concerned with the latest result one bit. Although technically a light fawn off the chart, we think you can see from her juvi photo that she has a very interesting pattern hidden within her fleece that will come in very handy during her breeding career.
