Ganymede will be at AMAF in NY again this Summer! BEEN THINKING ABOUT IT, BUT VA TOO FAR TO GO? Contact us to discuss getting a breeding in VA, NY, or TX. Time is running out to purchase a breeding to Ganymede, the 2017 AOA Nat’l Supreme Champion. Color genotype: ee Aa. Can produce black! He's making Champions & Judges Choice offspring!! Extraordinary Offspring: CNTRL Ganymede's Hannah B, has 22 Championships and 4 Judges Choice awards competing as a fawn female -AND- she is the 2021/22 #5 female in the Nation!! AMAF Islamadora, has 20 Championships, including the 2024 AOA National Championship, and received her first Judges Choice award as a yearling in Fall of 2023! StrongShepherd Juno, is a 16x Champion & JC male, and CCNF (arguably the top breeding farm in the country) purchased half-interest in this incredible male to bring different genetics into their herd! "This male shows extremely strong fiber traits that should be passed to his offspring...Bred to top notch females, you should expect many champions." -- Comments from Dr. Norm Evans' biopsy report SKIN BIOPSY was performed at 30 months of age by Dr. Norm Evans in December 2017. Of note, his 15x scan shows large fiber clusters uniform in shape and placement within his connective tissue. His scan shows only 4 guard type hairs from the 6800+ fibers in his 10 MM tissue punch. His true density is 86.75 follicles per SQ MM of skin. He shows a level 2 of 4 gland structure, with an average S/P ratio of 14.1 to 1, and only 11% of his secondary fibers are medullated which is rare since the average is near 60%. His 250x scan shows the presence of many round secondary fibers, and one hundred typical secondary fibers averaged 17.8 microns — at 30 months old!! According to Dr. Evans 30 months is the recommended age for skin biopsies and gives the most accurate values. Full report available upon request. While Ganymede’s breeding fee is firm, we can offer attractive discounts on any solely owned herdsire in a multiple breeding package. We also have females available that have already been bred to Ganymede or can be purchased with a future breeding to him. Please give us a call to discuss. Ganymede is Co-Owned with Rancho Inca Alpacas located in Navasota TX

Dam: WP Elite Delilah

The Best of the Best and Making Them!

WP Elite Delilah

HuacayaBred (Female)Light Fawn
AOA# 32691771DOB: 11/1/201311 yrs
5th shearing: Grade 1 Ultra Fine Royal Baby fleece with a comfort factor close to 100%! And this beautiful female's given us six (almost seven) stellar offspring -- all show quality -- with a few banners in there. WP Elite Delilah will stay in our foundation herd...but there's always a price, right? She's one of the best out there, and she's maintaining incredible fleece stats with a Spin Fineness of 17.7 microns at 5 years old as a breeding female! As an 8-year old, I doubt it's changed much -- she still has a beautiful crimp, fineness, and a wonderful handle to her fleece. If you are looking for the very best, Delilah's offspring are absolutely what you should consider...at least one of them, anyway! Delilah produced an absolutely gorgeous medium fawn male out of Man in the Moon's Rigel on 10/2/24. He's just AMAZING! Can't wait to get this boy into the show ring! We bred Delilah to Rising Sun’s sire, Snowmass Legend Rising, a few years ago and they produced our Venus, who is a stellar female which we retained in our foundation herd. This was the entire reason we inquired about Rising Sun in the first place. Delilah was bred to Legend’s Rising Sun for her 2023 cria, and she delivered a light fawn female, Electra, on 10/14/23. Electra is so lovely that I wish we had repeated the breeding! But whatever Delilah produces is golden! Delilah's 2020 female cria, Arielle (SOLD), may follow in the footsteps of her half sister, Venus. Her 2019 cria, Orion (SOLD), was awarded 1st place at the AOA National Show and has so far accumulated 4 Blue Ribbons. Too bad the Spring 2020 show season was cut short by COVID. Her Fall 2017 cria, Venus, is a real showstopper that took two Reserve Championships at her first show (with both CCNF and Snowmass represented in her class), and we have retained her in our foundation herd. Her 2016 male cria, Prometheus, also won a Color Championship, and has just started breeding as a herdsire on MMFA's stud row. We have no doubt Delilah can produce the best of the best of the best based on her five crias to date. Delilah is out of the renowned stud, The Elite Maximus. At 13 years old his 2014 histogram was less than 19 microns! And that fineness was incredibly uniform, with a comfort factor of close to 100%. Wow!! The Elite Maximus was one of those few animals to possess instant name recognition in the alpaca world. His reputation as a herdsire, and before that, in the show ring, was second to none. Sadly, The Elite Maximus suddenly passed away in the Fall of 2016. Delilah is one of his elite progeny.

Description

This sweet guy is a perfect fit for our farm and has adapted to life at Meadowgate without missing a beat! First, let's talk about his outstanding fiber. Orion has a bright and organized fleece, with uniformity of micron and character across his blanket. Throw in amazing staple length and fineness - what's not to love? Next, we add a balanced and correct conformation on a sturdy frame. Lastly, what an amazing disposition he has! Orion immediately fit right into our active agritourism program, greeting visitors of all ages without hesitation. He is comfortably filling that farm role while we watch him grow over the next year. We have high hopes that Orion will become an additional herdsire in our program, adding his fantastic fleece characteristics and genetics to our program. At this point, we believe he is well positioned to do just that! (Taken from the MMAF website) Orion received 1st place halter & 2nd place Walking Fleece at just over 6 months old; 2nd place at 9 months old, where the judge commented how close 1st and 2nd place males were in the class. And 1st place under Judge Jude Anderson, who stated he had the finest fleece in the class with excellent organization. At 18 months, he took another 1st place in halter under Judge Wade Gease, and he took a 2nd under Judge Amanda Vandenbosh in tight competition where both judges indicated that the top three males were very close!
