Polar Ice is the newest addition to our herdsire lineup at Peaceful Heart Alpacas. He brings an incredible genetic background including Jedi Accoyo of the USA, Caligula, and Bolivian Ice Man, and a fabulous, dense, buttery soft fleece full of beautiful crimp. He has been in the show ring many times and has brought home an impressive collection of ribbons including 11 First Place, 3 Reserve Color Championships (two in halter and one in fleece), and a Color Championship at the 2012 Buckeye Show. We first saw Polar Ice at the 2013 Virginia Classic where we were struck with his presence as he walked into the ring, and watched as he walked away with yet another First Place win. We are excited to have Polar Ice enter our breeding program. His first crias born this year are fabulous. Contact us to schedule a breeding with Polar Ice today. We also have some great females for sale now who are bred to Polar Ice for fall 2014 crias.

Peaceful Heart's Ima Joy

HuacayaBred (Female)White, Light Brown
AOA# 30815025DOB: 6/26/200717 yrs
Ima Joy’s name fits her perfectly. She is a joy to be around and gives kisses freely. Ima’s fleece has lovely small brown spots throughout, with a couple of larger spots to match her pretty face. As her fleece grows out, they get harder to see, but they are there when you shear. Ima’s fleece is also a joy to work with. She has won first place ribbons at the 2008 VAOBA Spin-Off, 2009 AOBA National Spin-Off and 2010 VAOBA Spin-Off. In the 2013 EPD calculations, Ima Joy (and her daughter) ranked in the top 1% of alpacas in percent medullation. Ima gave birth to her first cria in May 2010. Her son Joyful Joyful is a beauty and sold soon after he was weaned. His first shearing at 11 months of age had an average fiber diameter of 16.8 microns! Ima proved herself to be a great mother, with plenty of milk. Her 2011 female cria, Angelica, out of Snowmass Casanova's Arch Angel is a beauty in white. Ima has always been a favorite of the farm, but she truly proved her worth that year, taking on an orphan cria at 6 weeks of age and nursing he and Angelica successfully until they were weaned. All while maintaining good weight gain for both crias and holding her weight steady. Ima Joy delivered a gorgeous boy in October 2013 out of our fabulous two time Champion, Peruvian Maximus. Dante has dense soft fleece, in beautiful bundles of soft, beige. We were so happy with this adorable boy, that we repeated the breeding for fall 2014 and got a gorgeous multicolor male.

Description

Zorro has a wonderful personality, like his mother, and is the farm favorite by all who visit. He has the sweetest face. He likes to get to know people by sniffing their clothing and hair, and much to his pasture mate's dismay, he likes to sniff treats brought into the field, but he's not very likely to eat them. He will readily step on a scale when it's put before him and he will stand until told it's okay to move. He is very easy alpaca to handle and love. His fiber is dense, soft, and full of crimp.
