Tiger Lily Conopa’s Smoak will bring another great layer of quality in our herd with his incredible fleece and genetics! Smoak did extremely well in the showings, winning 9 Championship and 1x Supreme Champion title. Several times, he showed with his wins that his quality surpasses the lighter alpacas’ (with the Supreme and Age Championship), that means a lot for a brown! His fiber’s stats showed that he has a very fine fleece with an AFD of 14.7 microns at his 1st histogram and 16.3 microns at his 2nd. Barely no guard hair on his chest, and none on his blanket. His fleece has a very high frequency crimp, merino like, with extreme density. Fleece pictures don't do him justice! He is an outstanding male, with a conformation that stands out of the group, beautiful fleece coverage from head to toes and proportions. He is bringing along his elite North American genetics that will complement our herd greatly. His sire is the legendary Snowmass Conopa XXX. His dam is equally great: Tiger Lily Samatha Ice is a 2x Supreme Champion female that produces Supreme Champions! Smoak is just one of them. Her progeny is also producing multi-Champions, one of them being 9x Supreme Champion Tiger Lily Shaka’s Pillar. She’s out of an Eclipse Alyst daughter and Bolivian Ice Man, a male that made a spectacular impact on the Western Canada industry! We were left with only 1 cria sired by Smoak from 2021, and all we can say is WOW! That single cria is outstanding and rocking in the shows, winning the 1st place ribbons and 2 Reserve Championship. A-H scored 84/100 in fleece show: 24.5 for fineness and handle, 9 for uniformity of micron, 8.5 for brightness, 8.5 for character and 9 for absence of guard hair. The wait is finally over! Awaited Heritage – known at our farm as Chucky or A-H – is exactly what his name means. The very first live cria from our 3x Champion female, Dame Allure du DNA, and the first cria from 9x Champion Tiger Lily Conopa’s Smoak in our ownership! Allure has aborded of her first cria winter 2018-2019 and her 2020 fawn daughter by Magnus was put down at 3 hours old due to an unviable condition... It feels good to finally have Allure’s heritage! Born with so many curls, Chucky was a standout at birth! His fleece is so dense! We expect the crimp to get better with age considering the history of his maternal line. Allure’s first fleece wasn’t that impressive, in fact, her group mate Lady Aure du DNA beat her in show, winning 1st and RC in their class as Allure won only a 3rd place… But 1 year later, as Allure’s fleece got better, it was Allure’s turn to give her competitors a run for their money, claiming 3 Championship wins! That is a fiber trait coming from Chucky’s grandsire, ARA Chananza. Straight from our most potent maternal line, he combines the elite genetics of Snowmass Conopa XXX, Bolivian Ice Man, Eclipse Alyst, Vaccoyo and Bonanza that has proven to be dominant in the showings, winning many Supreme Champion titles, equally on his maternal and paternal lines. As expected, A-H did very well in his first year of showing, claiming 1st places and Reserve Championship titles. His show career began at the Alpaga Quebec where he claimed the 1st place in a class of 8, our other fawn male Attration won the 2nd place. At the Navan Fair, under Kevin O’Leary, he took another 1st in composite, and it was a difficult decision between to choose between A-H and One Of A Kind for the Champion. A-H came home with the Reserve. Comments were: “that fleece is sexy”, “you have to look at those fleeces (Championship fleeces) and find a way to get some of these in your herd” and “the Reserve Champion could easily be my Champion”. In fleece show, Chucky received the impressive score of 84/100, outstanding considering he lost 9 points for fleece weight, but however scored 4/5 for density… In Walking fleece at the Rockton World’s Fair, once again, A-H was Reserve Champion behind One Of A Kind (Judge’s Choice). Here’s “a way to get some of these in your herd”, A-H is now offered for sale! He has secured a spot in our herdsire row for the 2024 breeding season. He is turning into a gorgeous macho!
