MIDAS' BLACK ICE OF LUNASEA FARM

SuriHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# 35205012DOB: 6/3/20159 yrs
We are honored to co-own this amazing male with Lunasea Alpaca Farm and Dakini Suri Alpacas. Thank you Lucy Lee and King Fowler of Lunasea Alpacas for producing this stunning male and allowing us to partner with you. Black Ice is truly a once in a lifetime alpaca. He stunned the show world by winning color champion in all eight shows across the country as a juvenile. To top off his first year, he then won the first annual Supreme Champion award at the 2016 AOA Nationals Show. Black Ice's genetics speak for themselves: Chakotah's Midas, Chakotah of CCR Suris, Moon River's Peruvian Durango, Prada's Peruvian Beryl Markhams, Macgyver, and Peruvian Silver Heat. Top color genetics expressed in super royal fineness, extreme density in the lock structure and luster, luster, luster! Due to his density, we chose to shear Ice after his juvie show year. His regrowth staple length is incredible, prompting judges and others to question if he was even sheared when in the yearling show ring. His regrowth fleece is absolutely stunning. Black Ice's 2016 histogram confirmed his fleece is absolutely stunning. His AFD is 15.9 micron with an SD of 4.2. These are incredible fiber stats for a black male, which in fact rival the best of the elite whites. Ice's skin biopsy was analyzed in 2017 by Dr. Norm Evans. Dr. Evans stated: “Midas Black Ice of Lunasea Farm was biopsied as a 24 month old true black Suri male. His 15x scan shows fiber clusters very uniform in shape and placement within his connective tissue. His true density is 63.25 follicles SQ MM of skin and 25 typical fiber clusters show an average S/P of 12.5 to 1. He shows level 4 of 4 gland presence and 50% of his secondary fibers show a level of medullation. 100 secondary fibers averaged 20.2 microns while 50 primary fibers averaged 28.1 microns for a spread of only 7.9 microns. Midas Black Ice AFD on July 8, 2017 figures 20.83 microns." Ice was SHIP classified in June 2017. He has perfect scores of 5 in all conformation categories. His fleece scored a perfect 5 for Uniformity of Color and Fleece Phenotype. He scored 4.5 for Luster and Lock Structure and a 4 for Fineness. Classification scores that again confirm his show ring performance. Black Ice started his breeding career in Oregon in June 2017. He performed like the champion he is and produced multiple blue ribbon offspring for us. We were heart broken when in October 2018, Black Ice suddenly passed away from a blocked urinary tract. His great legacy lives on in his beautiful offspring. We love and miss you Ice... Our first Ice granddaugher, Big Timber's Ali McQueen, won Color Champion at the 2022 CABA/AWE show. Taking after grandpa!!

SuriBred (Female)Bay Black
AOA# 35072317DOB: 3/5/201410 yrs
This beautiful bay black female is a showstopper. Stunning dark fleece with an incredibly soft handle and great suri luster. Dairy Maid's bloodlines are the tops for black genetics. Her sire is multi-champion Bluegrass Peruvian Rhythm & Blues who has an outstanding show record and produces champion color offspring. Her dam, Merchant's Creamery is a Captain Morgan daughter, who is one of the most famous dark herdsires. Merchant Creamery won many first places and a reserve champion in her show career. Her genetics include Macgyver, Sierra Bonita's Sargent Pepper, Captain Morgan, DDF Accoyo Armani, PPeruvian Eleuteria, Uribe and Bruxo. Power packed genetics all along both the top and bottom lines. Dairy Maid won first place at the AlpacaFest West 2015 show and placed second at the competitive California Classic and CABA Classic. In addition to great fineness, Dairy Maid's fleece exhibits a high degree of luster and independent lock structure, as well as a good level of density. Her 2017 biopsy from Dr. Norm Evans showed a density of 42.75 with a S/P ratio of 9.3 to 1. She shows level 4 of 4 gland presence and her average SP spread is 10.5. Her biopsy AFD is 20.32 microns. While she has average density, she has great fineness for a bay black. Dr. Evans stated, "she shows excellent fiber stats for a bay black female". Dairy was S.H.I.P. classified in 2017 by Cheryl Gehly and received top scores of 5 in seven of the eight conformation traits. Her Fleece traits were a 5 for uniformity of color (excellent for a black--no white fibers!), 4s for fineness, lock structure and fleece phenotype, 3.5 for luster and handle and 3s for density and uniformity of micron. Dairy is an excellent mom with lots of milk and love for her crias. She gave birth in 2018 to a gorgeous bay black female sired by Midas' Black Ice. This beautiful girl, Jamoca, is stunning with dense, lustrous black fiber everywhere. Dairy was bred to our black champion stud, Khaya (a GLR Nico son) and gave birth to a stunning fawn male cria in July 2020. He now resides in Maui as a herdsire. In May 2022, Dairy gave birth to a beautiful fawn female sired by Iced Kola. This girl is gorgeous.with beautiful luster, lock structure and very long staple length. She won RC at the 2023 AWE show and first at the 2023 Futurity! Dairy gave birth to a stunning black female in July 2023, sired by our co-owned black male Zoltar named Dairy's Cherry Moka. She is a beauty! Dairy had another beautiful black female in July 2024 sired by our Iced Kola. She is a spunky girl with gorgeous jet black fleece.

This boy is young and still growing. His fiber is that exceptional fiber that Vader continues to produce.. “Rogue Suri Alpacas WLK Jamayo” was biopsied as a 24 month old true black male with ARI#35572503. His 15X scan shows fiber clusters very uniformin shape and placement within his connective tissue. He grades level 4 of 4 gland presence. Observe his 8 fiber clusters on the S/P scan that show an S/P of 11.0 to 1. 25 fiber clusters show an average S/P of 11.4 to 1. Also note on all scans that 100% of the secondary fibers show a level of medullation. His density is measured at 61 follicles SQ MM of skin. 100 secondary fibers average 18.4 microns and 50 primary fibers average 24.7 microns for a variation of only 6.3 microns. On August 29, 2020 Jamayo’s AFD is figures only18.95 microns. On all scans note the presence of many round secondary fibers which several fiber judges correlate to increase luster. This gentleman has many genetic traits which my work shows is passed to his offspring. He measures extreme fineness for a black suri male.
