Platinum Marquis

SuriHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey

Add 2 more Champions to this guys list of achievements, Silver Sensation and Vortexx both took home the purples at IAO, beating out some stiff competition. Sassy even "wowed" the higher profile farms, very excited to see a Platinum still producing these stellar animals. Platinum Marquis was the 2013 ARF Super Stud, come see why. At 11 yeRs old he is very impressive! So are his offspring, many who will be showing this year starting with IAO in Sacramento. ** UPDATE** both Sassy and Vortexx were shown at 2014 IAO and both took home the blues and purples! sassy took home a Color Championship, a Reserve Championship and 2 blues, Vortexx, took home a Championship and a blue! Noteably one of the most recognized silver studs in the United States and with good reasons, besides his own stately beauty, Marquis has produced champion after champion quality silver cria and now he resides at Sierra Nevada Ranch in Northern California. He will be open to outside breedings for a limited time at this price, then it will increase to reflect the true quality of this outstanding herdsire. Platinum Marquis has proven himself nationally in the show ring. Shown, as a juvenile, at the three largest North American alpaca shows (AOBA,AAA Futurity and MAPACA) in 2004, Platinum Marquis won Champion and Reserve Grey Color Champion in these three shows. His luster and his lock are so remarkable that many breeders ask if he is an accoyo. He is a full Peruvian with accoyo blood from his dam's (Silverbelle) side (Bruxo, Uribe and Helios). Silverbelle was the Reserve Grey Color Champion at both AOBA and AAA Futurity in 2002 as well as the highest selling suri alpaca at the 2002 AOBA National Auction. Platinum Marquis' sire, Silver Marquis,is a deep gunmetal silver grey, a product of two silver grey parents, Silver King and Silver Gem. Platinum Marquis, a third generation silver grey suri, sired his first crop of crias born in 2006.All of them were colored suris with excellent lock and luster and out of 14 born, 10 were grey!. Since then, Platinum Marquis has produced many more champion winning cria. As of July 2014 Marquis at 72 registered offspring! 37 of them are shades of grey 13 are black 14 are a either, Light, Medium or Dark Brown That leaves only 8 that are Dark Fawn or lighter at this point. We even breed him to patterns to get some gorgeous silvers. Some of his well known champion cria are, GLR Marakesh , GLR Orion, GLR Kiva , GLR Picassa , GLR Chasca, GLR Silvario and Silvano of PVA. His cria are taking the showring by storm! Although we beleive that the quality of the male is important, we feel that the progeny of the particular male is more important, Marquis has proven himself over and over! Napolean Dynamite by Platinum Marquis, owned by us, INCREDIBLE LUSTER! GLR Marakesh 2005 AOBA Nationals- 1st and Reserve Grey Male Color Champion GLR Marakesh 2005 Mapaca- 1st and Grey Male Color Champion GLR Orion 2006 MIAF- 1st

Description

This girl has some of our favorite coveted greys on each side of her pedigree, the beautiful and now departed, Platinum Marquis and WWR Prince Greystone. She has nice conformation, beautiful markings. We bred this young girl quite a few times and thought we saw a pregnancy at 30 days last year but although she gained some weight, she did not hold a pregnancy. I hesitate to mark her as a non-breeder because there is still a possibility - the particular male she had a confirmed pregnancy with was a new breeder and 4 females on our ranch dropped their pregnancies with him. We are needing to reduce our herd size and hate to let rare grey suri alpacas go, but hoping someone else will appreciate her. At her prior ranch she didn't have much halter work and she still does not handle on a halter very well. We do not recommend her for those new to handling alpacas.
