Unfortunately, we said good-by to 5C's Captain Midnight in April 2023. Necropsy report failed to give us any reason for his untimely death. We are fortunate to have a few of his offspring to carry on his amazing legacy. We knew Captain Midnight was special the minute he was born. We had no idea just HOW special. Captain currently has 18 banners in both halter and fleece. One of those banners is a coveted Judges Choice Fleece. At his very first show Captain was 1st and CC as the youngest entry in his yearling class. 5C's Captain Midnight won Champion and Res. Champion banners for his 2-year old and yearling fleeces at the 2015 AOA Fleece Conference!!!! These placements and that of his little brother Cardiac Arrest earned Cinco C's Alpacas the Classic Breeder's Cup at the Conference. Captain Midnight is one of the Best of our Best. His dam, 5C's Chocotini is one of our highly coveted females. Her fleece is still amazing at 12 years old. She and LMFI Peruvian Black Midnight have shared their best attributes in producing this amazing male. We are extremely proud to have produced this male. His fleece exhibits extreme density, well-defined crimp and an incredible hand, characteristics usually found in only the lightest fleeces. You must get your hands on this fleece to believe it. Captain's crias have arrived and they are stunning. His crias have remarkable fleeces and at this time colors range from TB to LF and include classic grey. Several champion offspring make Captain the real deal. Call to schedule a visit to get your hands on some of them. Captain Midnight is currently at Cinco C's Alpacas. His offspring are truly beautiful. He adds amazing brightness, crimp and density to every cria we have seen. Contact us to schedule your breedings or consider adding one of his beautiful offspring to your breeding program. His daughter 5C's Circe has been chosen as our auction lot for the POC Auction in June 2022. ***** 5C's Captain Booker (TB) and 5C's Captain Cognac (MB) are 2 of Captain Midnight's amazing sons. Both of these outstanding males won Color Championships at the 2021 AOA National Fleece Show. Captain Booker has been sold to Alpakas von Spiegel in Switzerland to stand stud for them. Captain Cognac will remain at Cinco C's Alpacas and has a very busy breeding season for 2022. We are very proud of what Captain Midnight has accomplished for us. Color Genotype Eeaa

Congratulations and Thank You to Dee Graham of DL Farms in Ontario, Canada for your purchase of this beautiful female. Sired by our 6X-bannered 5C's Contender. Maternal sister to our 3X-bannered 5C's Chicago. Cassidy is a well grown female with very solid conformation. Her true black fleece is very consistent with good density. These characteristics make a great start to a solid foundation female. Come check her out she's the complete package. Cassidy has been bred again to18X Champion and Judges Choice 5C's Captain Midnight for a 2021 cria. We are excited to be able to cross these three champion lines. ***June 1, Cassidy delivered an exciting TRUE BLACK female. To say that we are thrilled with this first cross of Contender and Captain Midnight would be a huge understatement. This cria is TRUE BLACK, DENSE and has lot of curls. Cassidy is an outstanding first time mom. LIFE IS GOOD. Cassidy is rebred to Captain Midnight for a repeat of their beautiful cria in 2021.

Description

Coco Noir is a genetic package of champions. Captain Midnight is Coco's sire and if that's not enough her grandsire is our Contender. Oh and did I mention her dam, Cassidy (now residing in Canada), is a maternal sibling to our grey champion Chicago. OK.......so champion blacks and greys are her foundation now look at her fleece!!! The fleece has the beautiful structure of her sire along with density and fineness. Check her fiber stats. Let's not forget conformation here. Coco Noir's conformation is solid in every aspect. Now for a new twist, we have color genotyped our herd and Coco shows that she doesn't carry dilution. This means that she is most likely to produce black and dark colors. Coco will be ready to breed in the spring of 2022 and could be a great addition to any colored breeding program. Color Genotype EE aa
