Snowmass Blue Luxury has a stunningly gentle presence and a quiet attitude beneath a fleece of luxurious, black fiber. Snowmass Blue Luxury's 2019 histogram had him at 23.4 microns with a comfort factor of 98.1, 1.9% of fibers above 30% and an 'oily' black, crimpy fleece that makes him all the more loveable. He is black to the skin and beyond on his blanket, with a wonderful sheen that makes it look oily-silky when opened, though as with many black alpacas, he is starting to show a touch of gray along his head.

Eve's full sister Ahaa has settled in as the resident "misfit" brown female when it comes to a farm that has become predominantly white and black animals, and she accepts this with great responsibility. With her brown fleece and her upright ears and curious eyes, she knows she's all femininity and charm, except when it comes to food, and then, get out of her way. She has a presence about her that demands you look at her, a fantastic conformation all around, and a lead-female attitude that lets nothing go un-sniffed, no food bucket un-explored or any visitor leave un-charmed Despite an attitude prior her first pregnancy on the farm, Ahaa has turned out to be a fantastic female for knowing what needs doing and has taught us much about alpaca reproduction. Our lovely Ahaa gave us our first home-bred cria, Heartbreaker, in October of 2018, whose curious personality always gets her noticed On November 10, 2020, Ahaa had an immense basketball of a cria, at 17.4lb, a little male who is a miniature version of herself, sired by Snowmass Blue Luxury Ahaa's cria, Cloudjumper, was weaned at four months as he was nearly 80lb & she said "I'm done" and finally, for the first time, she demanded separation & stopped allowing him to nurse. We have left her open until the 2021 fall breeding season

Description

Cloudjumper is affectionately called our "mutant", and for good reason An immense 17lb cria at birth, Cloudjumper's nose immediately began to explore his world around him, and romp with his two companions in the nursery. He has a wonderful dark nose and a semi-badger face in black and chocolate tones, with a stripe of it down his spine, making him a dark dorsal fawn despite being an almost clone-copy of his mom, Ahaa His mom produces large cria, given Heartbreaker's size at nearly two, and Cloudjumper was no exception. Due to his immense size of 84.2lb as of March 1, 2021, Cloudjumper got mom-weaned as Ahaa weaned him herself & wanted OUT of the nursery & was done with him, and he transitioned through the process of weaning with his usual mellow demeanor and that nose of his He is listed as a dark fawn/light brown, but his legs are almost a chocolate, his face is dark with lighter caramel highlights and he is personable and wants to taste and smell everything around him, and he has grown HUGE. He could be his own shetland pony ride if he wanted to, and at almost a year, he's ready for new adventures in the world Cloudjumper has a micron of 18.1 as of Feb 8, 2021 (private machine) and looks to be almost the same shade of rust-brown that his dam is, making it easier to process his fleece as one color/hue/shade for fiber products. He is also, as of Oct 2021, at 106 lb, larger than his sire was at two years old and still a yearling...he's gotten huge
