First Mate is a handsome male with a well-defined fleece structure that is uniform throughout. He sports a solid blanket that is extremely bright and fine with a high frequency crimp style. At his first show (March 2019), he took Color Champion in both Halter (of 17) and Walking Fleece (of 33)! First Mate is the son of multi-banner winning sire, FTAF's Privateer, who's fiber stats are AFD 20.9, SD 3.9, CV 18.5, %>30=2% at age 6. Privateer's fleece is that "elite" fleece with bundles everywhere and secondary bundles coming out of each bundle, even down to his knee and under his belly and on his chest. This breeding male is aging gracefully and retaining his fineness and uniformity and passing along these characteristics to his offspring such as First Mate! AND the majority of the time, he throws the color of the dam!!! It should also be noted that grandsire, true black SHVN The Buccaneer, took his 13th banner at 7 years old!
