Four time banner winner MMALP Micah is an outstanding grandson of the great herdsire Pucara Kahuna. Micah's sire's dam LCA Elana comes from great genetics and also has quite the show record herself winning 4 banners and placing first at The Futurity. Elana was sired by Grand Marnier, a MacGyver son, and a two time banner winner. Putting Kahuna and Elana together produced Kahuna's Casper, Micah's sire. Casper won a total of 10 banners in his show career, a Judge's Choice, and a first place at the AOBA National Fleece Show. The bottom half of Micah's pedigree is solid. His dam Synergy's Duchess is a Sierra Bonita's MacGyver's Synergy daughter and while she was never shown herself, her sire Synergy has produced a multitude of champions for Wilkins Ranch and Great Lakes Ranch. Micah has great genetics and they are Full Peruvian. Dr. Norm Evans Skin Biopsy Report: MMALP Micah was biopsied as a 50 month old light fawn Suri male. His ARI# is 32546620. His 15X scan shows fiber clusters that are uniform in shape and placement within his connective tissue. His density is 40.5 follicles SQ MM of skin and his S/P ratio from 20 typical fiber clusters averages 9.3 to 1. He grades level 4 of 4 gland structure. 100% of his secondary fibers show medullation. Eighty secondary fibers averaged 22.1 microns while 40 primary fibers averaged 35.5 microns. This equates to a micron variation of 13.4 microns. These fiber stats figure an AFD of 23.52 microns. Histogram Results: A random sample of fleece from Micah's side was taken on 9/19/17, just after Micah had turned 4 years old. The histogram came back with an AFD of 26.3 microns. Eight months later a larger sample was sent in so that Micah could be part of the 2018 EPDs. This histogram came back with a 28.6 micron AFD. The things most outstanding about Micah's fleece are its great luster, its outstanding lock structure, its consistent lock style across the body, and its very good staple. He has a lot of fleece and that may seem puzzling considering his density, but not so much when one considers the fact he is a large Suri male. He brings an outstanding conformation, great size with a very good substance of bone, and beautiful fleece coverage on his legs and his head to the genetics he will pass along to his offspring. We just love that size, that coverage, and his outstanding Suri head style. He just flat out carries himself and stands like a champion everywhere he goes. We will breed him to females that have fleeces with density and fineness that need to improve on their body size, lock structure, and luster.

With Black Beau's Ariana it's understandable where the great conformation as well as the awesome fleece comes from as you look at the background of her sire, Black Beau. Besides her sire, the fineness of the fleece is something notable in her dam Lianka's lineage. As Ariana has matured the luster of her fiber has stayed clear to the skin, the fineness of fiber is obvious, she has consistent lock structure throughout her fleece, there is a beautiful drape to her locks, and her fleece is extremely dense. She's Beautiful! Ariana's show career was while she was a yearling and she had just turned one year old. She was 13 to 14 months old competing against much older yearlings. We probably should have continued to show her on into the next spring, but by that time we decided to keep her as a production female and it didn't seem worth it. Ariana has had a fiber sample submitted to AOA to be part of the EPD rankings done each year. We feel her overall EPDs are the best of any production female in our herd and can be seen by clicking on the EPDs link. Ariana had her first cria on May 3, 2017. It weighed 16.4 lbs. The sire was Bojack. It's a gorgeous dark brown female! Ariana is an attentive mother to her cria and provides good milk as the cria has grown steadily. Ariana had a light-medium fawn male cria sired by Tapestry's Rockstar Legend on June 5, 2018. He weighed 22.6 lbs and has great fleece characteristics. Ariana had a 21 lb. male cria sired by Alaskan Gold on 7/9/2019. He is a medium fawn. He developed beautifully and has a great Suri phenotype. HIs skin biopsy shows that his wonderfully organized fleece has density, fineness, and uniformity. We named him ANDACAL's Klondike Gold and have kept him as a herdsire. Ariana was bred to Micah for a 2021 cria and it arrived 7/16/2020. It was a girl weighing 18.4 lbs. and she has a stunning fleece. Her fleece is beautifully lustrous, it's fine, it's very dense, and it is organized with an advanced lock structure. We named her ANDACAL Micah's Gabrielle and she had a very good show career including a Judge's Choice. Ariana had a multi colored male cria weighing 22.4 lbs on 7/21/21. His sire was Page Master. He's got a great phenotype and a beautiful fleece. He has all the makings with his exemplary phenotype and outstanding fleece qualities of being a future herdsire. We named him ANDACAL's Guardian Of The Galaxy. Ariana had a light fawn female cria weighing 25.2 lbs on 7/30/22. She was sired by Bold Ruler. All early indications are that she could end up being a special one. We are not going to breed Ariana until spring of 2023.

So, it's a definite that the top half of Gabrielle's pedigree is loaded with championship and prepotent genetics. Gabrielle's dam, Black Beau's Ariana, also brings superb luster, a great phenotype, and outstanding fleece characteristics to the pairing with Micah. Ariana has great EPDs from top to bottom, but especially for fineness and uniformity. She has had Top 1% EPD ranking for AFD, SF and MSL. In addition to those, she has top 25% or better for all the other EPDs. Ariana comes by that fineness through her dam Lianka as she is from a fine micron lineage of alpacas that start with the herdsires Sedoso on top and Huacho on the bottom. Lianka herself has Top 2% EPD rankings for AFD, SF, and %>30. From her full name one can tell that Ariana is sired by Black Beau of PVA who is from that great dark lineage. Black Beau is also known for producing fineness and that is understandable considering Ariana's rankings are better than her dam. Overall, this means that Gabrielle inherited great fleece characteristics from both the top and the bottom of her pedigree. It's no wonder with the great genetics found in her pedigree that Gabrielle always had great potential. She has a great Suri phenotype with great fleece coverage from her ears to her toes. She has a great Suri head style. Her fleece is fine, dense, lustrous, and organized. She inherited the good size of her sire, and we feel she will be an outstanding production female. She was not only a banner winner, but also was awarded Judge's Choice at the 2022 GWAS halter show. Gabrielle had her first cria on 8/4/23. It was a 21 lb male sired by Zoltar and he shows a lot of promise. He has both a gorgeous fleece and phenotype. We feel he should be a future herdsire for someone. Gabby had a 17.6 lb light fawn female cria sired by Whistling Pines Vontae Mack on 9/7/2024. We co-own this girl with Whistling Pines Ranch as part of the deal to get her bred to Vontae Mack. She is gorgeous and we are looking forward to watching her mature.
