GREAT LUSTER & LOCKS!
DUMBLE'S GINNY OF ANDACAL
SuriBred (Female)Dark Fawn
AOA# 35311423DOB: 5/13/20168 yrs
Ginny is our first cria out of a herdsire we had named Torbio's Dumbledore. We have unfortunately sold him and now wish we hadn’t. He had a fine micron at 22.8 with a good standard deviation of 4.7 at age 3 years. His powerfully built body had great conformation. Ginny's dam, Babette, was also a large powerfully built alpaca with great conformation that we have sold, too. Ginny was a large cria at 21.4 pounds and she continues to be a big strong girl as she matures with the inherited good conformation. Just like the last cria for Babette, Ginny is an example of her dam breeding up to a better alpaca than herself. Dumbledore had a big part in that happening to the great extent that it did. Ginny's beautiful fawn fleece has great luster, fineness, and locks. Her pedigree is full of great alpacas such as Torbio, Torbio's Masterpiece, Saladin, MacGyver, Bruxo, Inca, and Chesnimitz.
Ginny was shorn at about 1 year of age and she is great proof of her sire's EPD rankings. All of his EPD categories related to fineness and uniformity are in the top 5%. Babette when tested at age 8 years was right at 31 microns for AFD. Age had something to do with that, but overall, she had never really had a fine micron fleece. Ginny's histogram at age 1 came back with a 22.7 micron AFD and a 5.2 micron SDAFD. 7.6% of her fibers were greater than 30 microns. Her average staple length was good at 8.1 inches and her fleece weight was 4.9 lbs. That histogram was used for her EPDs. Ginny has good EPDs and you can see those EPDs by clicking on the link.
After she was shorn, she was shown at the Nebraska State Fair in August of 2017 and earned her first championship. The judge commented that "she is a great example of the luster seen in a Suri alpaca." She was the Grand Champion Medium Colored Suri Female.
Ginny had a 17.8 dark brown or bay black female on May 14, 2020. The little girl was sired by WI Challenger and is our first cria sired by him on our farm. Ginny is great mother, talking to her little girl all the time, and had plenty of milk as the little one gained weight quickly. We have bred her to WLK Remington Steele for a late summer cria in 2021.
