LHSA Diamonte's Adamas' Histogram Highlights! *Mean Fiber Diameter: 17.3 *Mean Staple Length: 194 *Fibers Greater than 30 microns: 1.5% *Comfort Factor: 98.5% LHSA Diamonte's Adamas' biopsy revealed a density of 48.5 follicles /sq. mm, with a S/P of 8.4. His secondary fibers average 22.1 micron with primaries at 35.1 micron. In 2018 he was FIRST at the National Fleece show, out of a group of four TB two year old males. He was also second at the National Halter show. Adamas' density, luster, and body type are a true asset to growing true black at LHSA. His personality is inquisitive but not pushy, and a leader of younger males. Adamas' personality as a distinguished, composed male is also a desirable trait for a herdsire. We bred Adamas to our GLR Amalia (Grey, AOA 35063605) and LHSA Superstition (Dark Brown, AOA 31554138). We achieved gorgeous crias in 2020 from these pairs. Adamas is passing on his density, luster, and locks as well as conformation and temperament to his crias. A word about the health practices at Long Hollow Suri Alpacas… We take the health of our herd seriously. • All alpacas are vaccinated annually, and bred females are vaccinated 30-60 days prior to birth of their cria. • Fecal flotations are performed on EACH individual alpaca monthly and treatment is completed on a per alpaca basis. • All alpacas receive monthly injections as a precaution against meningeal worm. • Bred females receive a minimum of 1 ultrasounds performed onsite by a veterinarian and our veterinary technician. We interact daily with all our animals to ensure any medical needs are addressed as needed and this improves their socialization.

In 2014 we purchased 2 juvie Cinders’ daughters from Cinders of Ricochet Ranch, GLR Phoebe and GLR Ongeleigh. These 2 females helped us win the 2015 AOA Classic Breeders cup at the AOA fleece show and Black female Champion at Suri Network fleece show along with multiple halter championships, 7 banners in all. These 2 females brought our black breeding program to a new level of fiber statistics. Calliope possesses TRUE BLACK genetics from both her Sire and Dam as well as their Sires & Dams, which includes: Rastamon, Cousy’s Midnight Rock, Cinders, GLR Ali and Shavano. In 2015 LHSA teamed up with OverHome Alpacas to purchase Calliope’s sire GLR Moab a true black 4-time banner winner and half brother to GLR Phoebe on the dam’s side. In addition to show results, we rely heavily on proven genetics and fleece data as the determining factors in our breeding program.
