PATAGONIA'S LA JEFA La Jefa is a lovely true black female with excellent bloodlines. In 2004, she was assessed as an "A-" by Amanda VandenBosch, a Senior AOA Halter and Fleece Judge. Two of Alpaca de la Patagonia's top herdsires are in her genetic makeup - Patagonia's Neruda and Shackleton. La Jefa's sire, Patagonia's Neruda has fleece that is exotic in color and extremely fine. At 2.5 years of age, his histogram was: afd=17.4m, sd=3.6m, cv=20.5%, >30=0.7%. (If you are not familiar with Neruda, he sold for over $200,000 at the 2007 Futurity Auction). La Jefa's true black paternal grandsire, Shackleton 562, maintained a baby-fine fleece even at 9 years of age. Her dam, Hermana is an import from Chile (also from Alpaca de la Patagonia). Offspring: On 8/18/2010, La Jefa had a lovely BB female sired by Patagonia's Montero. On 9/24/2013, La Jefa gave birth to a beautiful MF female sired by Patagonia’s Chief, a true black top-sire on our ranch. In 2018, La Jefa presented us with a pretty true black female cria, also sired by Patagonia’s Chief.
