Bronze Mahogany is proudly co-owned with Mt Tabor Alpacas and Salt River Alpacas. Bronze Mahogany won Reserve Champion at the 2009 AOBA Nationals-Bronze Mahogany respectfully won this honor in a very competitive championship class of 40 qualifying combined fawn males-including light fawn-an impressive feat worth mentioning. Then, in 2010 he took Brown Color Champion! His extremely long staple length and independence of lock would give the best of whites a run for their money. Opening up Bronze's fleece is a suri breeders dream-you'll find stunning greasy luster, density, and fineness that will no doubt blow your mind. Genetics like his are no accident. When you start with the the top half of his ARI you'll see his sire El Pacacola (who is producing some dynamite crias), then to Peruvian Protocol and directly to 4Peruvian Meteor-all brown influential males. On the bottom side notice Besa, she's a PPeruvian Amador (Austrailian full Accoyo herdsire) daughter! That's right-Bronze Mahogany is closely related to Pucara Kahuna: The Futurity 2009 Suri Light/White Herdsire of the Year and 2008 Reserve Light/White Herdsire of the Year! Full Brother to Copper Mahogany. Bronze Mahogany is sure to make an impact in a variety of breeding programs. Jet Stream Daughter!

DD Jet Stream's Peruvian B'Dazzled

SuriOpen (Female)Light Fawn
AOA# 1409581DOB: 10/18/200618 yrs
Wow! B'Dazzled is truly outstanding- correct conformation is a always given but it is her incredibly dense, independently locked and fine fleece that set her apart. She only showed a few times herself but the proof is in the progeny-- so far she has produced three outstanding cria out of three different males and each one is better than the last. B'Dazzled gave birth to her first cria out of Pucara's Kahuna. She is a large boned female with a proud bearing. Her locks and luster are dazzling. She took 2nd in a competitive white class at MAPACA. Her second daughter, Opalessence, was out of Hotazel and took Light Champion in her first and only show. Her latest offspring, Bronzed Bullett, is a gorgeous light brown boy out of Bronze Mahogany. Bullett took first place at Nationals and sold at less than a year old. B'Dazzled 2019 Cria LHSA Dazzlin' (Sired by Bronze Mahogany) is showing already her luster, Lock, & fineness. For those who appreciate skin biopsies- below is her information: 52.25 follicles/mm sq S/P Ratio-10.9 to 1 Level 3 of 4 Glands 50% secondary medullation 100 Secondary Fibers Averaged 19.1 microns 50 Secondary Fibers Averaged 25.9 microns Primary to Secondary Spread 6.8 microns A thought about density- Over the past several years, we have learned that perception of density is deceiving. We have found that the alpacas we (and the judges) believe are dense are actually not. Instead, most of them have a wider micron spread between the secondary and primary fibers. This variation seems to give a false perception of density. According to the biopsies we have seen, the densest alpacas on our farm are turning out to be those who have a very smooth and slippery feel but don't necessarily "feel" dense. We have had the majority of alpacas on our farm biopsied after they reached maturity and have found that the very densest alpacas are never those that we (or the judges) thought were dense. Something to keep in mind when you're trying to make sense of density claims.

Description

LHSA Dazzlin is our sweet 2019 female. She possesses a friendly temperament, ease of handling, and is halter trained. Looking at her sire and dams fiber results, we are sure of amazing results from this female. Dazzlin's EPDs fall in the top 15%! LHSA Dazzlin Histogram Highlights! * Mean Fiber Diameter: 17.4 microns * Mean Staple Length: 186 mm * Fibers Greater Than 30 microns: 3.6 % Sire: Bronze Mahogany's biopsy results: Density 75 follicles/mm sq, S/P 11, Secondaries 18.1, Primaries 26.1 with a spread of only 8.0 EPDs are in the top 25%. Dam: DD Jet Streams's Peruvian B'Dazzzled gave us perfect conformation but it was her incredibly dense, independently locked and fine fleece that set her apart. Her biopsy proved why she stood out in the herd, and why her crias were successful. B'Dazzled's density was 52.25, S/P 10.9/1, secondaries 19.4, primaries 25.9, and a spread of 6.5. Her AFD was 19.67. It was no surprise that her EPDs were in the top 5% ! **A word about the health practices at Long Hollow Suri Alpacas… We take the health of our herd seriously. • All alpacas are vaccinated annually, and bred females are vaccinated 30-60 days prior to birth of their cria. • Fecal flotations are performed on EACH individual alpaca monthly and treatment is completed on a per alpaca basis. • All alpacas receive monthly injections as a precaution against meningeal worm. • Bred females receive a minimum of 1 ultrasound performed onsite by a veterinarian and our veterinary technician. We interact daily with all our animals to ensure any medical needs are addressed as needed and this improves their socialization.
