Arappaho is a striking Suri herdsire with rare bloodlines, from the outstanding breeding program at Great Lakes Ranch. Only shown twice in 2009, Arappaho was named Black Male Champion at both the 2009 AOBA National show in Cleveland with over 800 Suris and was also Champion at MAPACA in 2009. His fleece has that sought-after extreme greasy feel and is lustrous throughout each lock. He has well defined, consistent locks across the blanket with coverage to his toes and his conformation is exact with strong bone. Arappaho is a Shavano son out of an outstanding Synergy daughter. Shavano is half accoyo, true black and the 2010 Dark Herdsire of the Year. He was Black Male Color Champion as a Juvenile at the 206 AAA Futurity and Reserve Black Male Color Champion at MAPACA that spring. Shavano went on to win his class the next year as a yearling at both the AAA Futurity and AOBA Nationals in 2007. Arappaho's dam, GLR Allelujah, is a fawn female with extreme luster and great density. Shavano is not open to outside breedings so Arappaho presents a great opportunity to add some of Shavano's rare genetics to your breeding program. Arappaho has produced many exceptional offspring. Platinum Plus had an outstanding show career and is now an outstanding producer of show-worthy cria. She is stately, self-confident and super easy to keep. Platinum Plus's 2012 cria, born August 14, 2012, is an gorgeous dark silver grey male, sired by Peruvian Silver Heat. Silver Titan is strong and promises to be an outstanding gray male! Platinum Plus's 2013 cria is a beautiful black boy, BB, sired by Arappaho. She was bred to Harmony's Arrow for a 2015 cria and delivered a beautiful True Black girl on June 18, 2015. Chica is a spunky sweet girl who won two Reserve Color Championships as a juvy , Futurity Reserve Color Champion and MOPACA Color Champion as a yearling and numerous first place ribbons. Platinum Plus was bred to MMALP Stone's OSO. She gave birth 20 September 2017 to an awesome True Black Boy. He wasn't shown much before he was bought for a future herdsire. Platinum was bred to MMALP Goldstar’s Vader in 2018 and had a beautiful Bay Black female, Ashoka, May 8, 2019. The cria has luster, fineness, nice lock structure and great confirmation. Platinum may be older but she is a great mom with lots of milk and should be able to have a couple more crias. Besides those fleece genetics, BB's phenotype is outstanding. He's a big strong male with great substance of bone. He has a great temperament and with his outstanding size one could say he is a gentle giant. BB is the product of two outstanding parents: GLR Arappaho - a superior bay black Shavano son - and Platinum Plus - a gorgeous classic silver grey. Yes, BB's sire Arappaho is a son of the 2010 Dark Herdsire of the Year, Shavano. BB's sire Arappaho was a National Champion and is a full brother to our production female GLR Alia that was both a National and Futurity Champion, and Halo Ranch's GLR Ali that was a Reserve Champion at Nationals once and Futurity twice. Both of his full sisters also won Black Color Championships at the Suri Network All Suri Fleece Show. Oh, and that full sister GLR Ali produced the 2020 Black Female Color Champion at the 2020 AOA National Show, Agatha of Halo. GLR Arappaho has sired banner winners and BB was one of them. HIs dam has produced more than one banner winner and one of them, Arrow's Little Chica was a 4 time banner winner including the 2017 Futurity Black Female Reserve Champion. BB was shown five times, twice as a previously shorn yearling. As a previously shorn yearling male, BB won the Reserve Color Championship at the 2015 GWAS show. What more needs to be said? He is a gorgeous black male with outstanding genetics! He hasn't had a lot of registered offspring, but expect that to change in the next few years as we plan on using him on quite a few females.
