Munay is the Quechua word for unconditional, eternal, unreasoned love. It is an attitude of respect and appreciation of everyone and everything, values of our farm. He not only shines in personality, his fleece shines also. Munay is a graceful, proud, kingly macho. Munay's density and fineness are very noticeable as is a consistent lock structure. He has a more than adequate staple length and is a heavy fleece producer with excellent conformation. His qualities earned him a coveted place as a herdsire on our farm where he sired three gorgeous female crias--three for three! His first offspring has a fleece that is virtually identical in density and character to his--she is already a heavy fleece producer! And she has won some nice ribbons, too, a tribute to him since her looks are so identical to him. His other progeny are every bit a copy of Munay's density, luster and handle. His fleece is usually spoken for prior to shearing each year. If I manage to keep a fleece, the roving made from it and yarn yield is phenomenal. One of my best decisions was to buy this lovely huacaya. Joliette placed 2nd grey juvenile female huacaya 2009 MABA Alpaca Celebration. She is sired by AABC Navigator, a third generation grey and grandson of Macusani. Navigator 's wins include: Champion and 1st place 2003 MAPACA Jubilee 1st place and Reserve Champion Grey Huacaya Yearling , 2003 AAFuturity 2nd place 2003 AOBA National Show Reserve Champion, 2002 MAPACA Jubilee Reserve Champion Huacaya, 2002 AOBA National Show 1st place Huacaya 2002 AOBA National Show 1st place at the 2002 Coastal Classic, 2nd for Huacaya Juvenile Grey Male Class at the 2002 AA Futurity Champion and 1st place Grey Huacaya Male 2002 Empire Alpaca Extravaganza. Joliette has been an outstanding breeder, producing a fawn female in 2012, Ameripaca's Junebug, sired by Poseidon, and a 2014 female cria sired by Terrapin, Cribleman's Jewel. Jewel has a beautiful, fine, dense brown fleece with fine white fibers throughout. I'm please that Jewel is now with Alpacas at Cherry Run. Jewel recently produced a lovely brown male crea for ACR. In 2020 Joliette produced a lovely dark fawn male cria sired by Our Peruvian Munay of CRANC-- Cribleman's Journey. His thick fine fleece is indicative of outstanding breeding. Joliette is now thirteen years old and her fiber results from April 2022 measured at 25.7 micron with a SD of 6.2 microns. She is bred to LMFI Peruvian Justus for a November 2022 cria.
