Brokered for Alpacas of Marin in Nicasio, California! COLOR CHAMPION!! Stormcat is VERY black (3 of his 4 grandparents are black!)--it's late summer, and his fleece is Blue-Black--it actually looks like black velvet! He has a long long staple, a very bright fleece with pleasing medium crimp and organized structure. Very big bone on a correct, compact frame, with a level topline and fleece all the way THRU his toes. He has a teddy bear head that is so appealing on huacayas, with a good bite, and a pleasing personality that is worth breeding for, aside from everything else! Stormcat’s pedigree is a "who's who" of names – Accoyo Camilio, Pperuvian Guellermo, CPeruvian Jaxon as an impressive sampling. His sire is a 4x Champ with retained fineness in his fleece – at 8 years old he was still holding a 22 micron fleece – this is a heritable trait! Sire Axtion Jaxon is known for throwing dark color and grey, and Stormcat has EVEN MORE black in his heritage. Stormcat's crias are on the ground--a BRIGHT fawn out of fawn, and a fabulous bay black (with a silver nose!) out of a light fawn dam. His third cria, a dark brown girl, is clearly improved from her dam--she has bright, finely crimped, consistent and organized fleece, and an adorable conformation--she won 2 championships plus numerous blue ribbons and sold at a year of age. There's also a lovely black girl who has taken 2 Championships, and a black male who took a blue ribbon his first time out-- and more to come. In addition to passing on his dark genetics, Stormcat seems to pass on his perfect, compact conformation and head, fineness (for black), good growth in the crucial first 6 months, and outrageously long and luxuriant eyelashes! BREAKING NEWS: EACH of Stormcat's five crias for Alpacas of Marin has taken home a blue ribbon in halter competition their first time in the ring, and 2 of the 5 (Chukulati and her full sister Iquique) have taken color championships their first time out! WHOO-HOO!! Stormcat placed 3rd of 11 in very, very tough competition for the Dark/Mixed Get of Sire Class at the 2013 SWRAS! We are absolutely thrilled to have him place behind Amber Autumns' Eclipse Alyst and Marquam Hill's Snowmass Trilogy--Stormcat placed above outstanding herdsires that are practically "household names"! Stormcat has made the rounds of West Coast Alpacas ranches over the years, but he has finally come to his "real" home at Alpacas of Marin in the North San Francisco Bay area--west of Petaluma and Novato. We have Stormcat and his champion True Black son, Torrefacto. We figure we will sell one of them and be thrilled to keep the other. We have a lot of Stormcat offspring now, so it's time to sell off either him or his son. As of December, 2013, 8 of Stormcat's 11 offspring for us are BLACK, and he has several grey offspring at outside ranches.

Dam: Derwydd Peruvian Inti-Siqay

Multi-Champ Fawn, Awesome Fleece, Color!

Derwydd Peruvian Inti-Siqay

HuacayaOpen (Female)Light Fawn
DOB: 10/24/200618 yrs
Having lost to Derwydd Peruvian Inti-Siqay (aka "Suzy") several times in the show ring, I was honored to be able to buy her at the 2008 AOBA auction! She is a light fawn female with a well-balanced medium frame. She has a dark fawn spot on her right front leg--some would say she is dark fawn with a large light fawn spot. She certainly can pass dark genetics, as demonstrated by her multichampion TB son, Torrefacto! Suzy's pedigree is outstanding--her sire is Derwydd Peruvian Inti-Sapa, producer of many champion offspring, and her dam is an Accoyo Vengador daughter with several champion crias. Suzy has that "in your face" crimp and definition of bundles that is sooo sexy! It has won her important championships in halter AND fleece competition. She is DENSE, with bright fleece. Look at her award-winning offspring--OH! And see that she can produce BLACK...and SILVER GREY!! She is an excellent mother and was bred again to our black champion male, Dundee's AJ Stormcat--sire of her multi champion son,Torrefacto. Suzy is spitting off now from her breeding to Stormcat! That means a cria in early July, 2018!

Description

Brokered for Alpacas of Marin in Nicasio, California! Torrefacto--it's a delicious Spanish coffee bean that is finely coated in sugar before roasting. Yumm! That describes our Torrefacto to a "T"! He's a true black son of our Champion black herdsire, Dundee's AJ Stormcat and our multiple-championship fawn gal, Derwydd Peruvian Inti-Siqay. His dam took Reserve Color Champion in Fleece at the AOBA/International Fleece show in 2009, and our Torrefacto combines the best qualities of both of his parents. His sire comes from very black bloodlines known for retention of fineness, great coformation, and Torrefacto shares his sire's mellow temperament. His dam has incredibly dense, crimped fleece with a lo-o-ong staple length. Torrefacto has a correct, compact , strong conformation--he's matured into an impressive macho. His fleece is bright and nicely crimped with a lovely handle and it is almost blue-black in hue. He has the cutest silver/white spot right on the tip of his nose. We think he's going to be something special, and so do the judges--he took a blue ribbon his first time out in the ring, and another 1st of 6 at the California Classic. I've just skirted his 2012 blanket for the fleece shows--he has fine fleece with a lovely handle, brightness, and nice bundling. It's yummy!---WOW--his 2013 fleece is EVEN BETTER--and it took RESERVE CHAMPION at the show! He's developed well-defined bundles with very high frequency crimp, brightness, and consistency of crimp. Torrefacto took 1st and Color Champion in the 2014 AlpacaMania Fleece show--with his 4rth Fleece! His dam, Inti-Siqay is really kicking in with her AOBA/International Championship fleece! Torrefacto is 4 1/2 years old now, and his first crias are on the ground. Moka is a TB female with matching white "spats" on her hind feet. She gets that cute white spot gene from her sire. I'm pleased to see Torrefacto has really improved both crias--Moka has fineness and density, with a medium frequency crimp and BRIGHTNESS! Kahlua is very bright, has a wonderful handle (his was the first cria fleece I sold), and also a medium amplitude crimp and very long staple length. ***Seller reserves 2 breedings to Torrefacto--drive by or will pay agistment for female. We don't want to lose out on this genetic power-house! Check out our "Black is Back" package listing, featuring Torrefacto and an unrelated proven Black female! Torrefacto has moved to his new digs at Alpacas of Marin in the north San Francisco Bay area. There's more: Torrefacto took ANOTHER blue ribbon in fleece at the 2016 Nationals--the judge stated that he has excellent fleece characteristics for his age!
