AVC AJ's Kodiak

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# 31370851DOB: 6/19/200915 yrs
Genetic testing on Kodiak indicates that his color genotype is: Ee a1a3 which means that he carries one dilution gene and both alleles are black. Having an a3 allele has proven consistently to produce that rich blue-black in our herd. It is being passed through multiple generations and they are non-fading true blacks (not brown on the outside). Kodiak can produce light-colored offspring depending on the color genotype of the dam. Typically, Kodiak produces black when bred to females who have black behind them or are black. Kodiak is producing beautiful grey cria. In 2022, Kodiak's offspring continue to stand at the top of their classes. In 2020, one of Kodiak's female offspring took home several Color Championships, Reserve Championships, and a Judge's Choice Award from Amanda VandenBosch. Kodiak's crias continue taking Color Champion after Color Champion. His yearling TB female took a Reserve Color Champion at Nationals, his juvenile TB female took a Color Champion at Buckeye, and his medium fawn male took a blue at Nationals and a Color Champion at the Wisconsin show. Another Kody female took a Reserve Color Champion at the 2017 Futurity, and another fawn female took home a Color Champion as a juvenile in 2017. These amazing offspring are being noticed around the globe. Several have been exported to other countries. The 2015 show season began with Kodiak crias taking home Color Champion and Reserve Color Champion. To top it off, Kodiak won first for Get of Sire, and Lisa took a blue in Breeder's Best of Three with three Kodiak TB female cria! Add to that, Kodiak showed as an almost six-year-old and won Color Champion as well as a blue! Amanda loved his staple, fineness, uniformity, density, conformation, and true black color! At 5 years of age, Kodiak took two blues and a Reserve Color Champion! Peter loved this solid macho male, his square frame, teddy bear head, amazingly fine, uniform, and dense fleece. Kristin Burhmann confirmed! This is an incredible male! Kodiak comes from a long line of champions who produce champions. His sire is CPeruvian Axion Jaxon. Kodiak's dam is AVC 20th Century Fox, who is sired by 6Peruvian Accoyo Titan. She also carries Accoyo Camilio behind her. Not only is Kodiak genetically packed, but he also has perfect conformation. Kodiak is a compact male with a large straight bone structure. His bite is perfect, and if you look at his photos you can he is gorgeous. He has personality plus! He commands an audience wherever he is. As for his fiber, it is not often you come across a true black with no white fibers. Kodiak is solid black with uncompromising fineness, density, and uniformity of micron and crimp.

McKenzi is the dam of our Judge's Choice winner, Quintessential and her full sister Portia. These females are "beauty in black." McKenzi combines one of our finest females with one of the most sought-after sires in the country. This female does not disappoint. Immense density, coverage, organization, structure, and fineness! Her bite, conformation, and bone structure are perfect. McKenzi lineage is stacked as any discriminating breeder will notice with names such as; Peruvian Hemingway, Accoyo Elite, DDF Bobbie Ann, 4Peruvian Legacy, Snowmass Millenium, Peruvian Charmingway, The Elite Maximus, Vacara of PVA, PPPeruvian Yupanqui, PPeruvian Timoteo, DPA Mayflower, JLFA Millenium's Peruvian Ventura, and Peruvian McKala. Amanda VandenBosch liked McKenzi and awarded her a blue and the color champion as a juvi. McKenzi went on to help her sire win the blue for Get of Sire! McKenzi took home the blue and reserve color champion at the American Alpaca Showcase. She also helped her sire win another Get of Sire! This female is a proven producer of high-end seed stock. Check out Exclusive and Quintessential. Kenzi does it again with a true black female from her 2021 pairing with Kodiak. 2019 Histogram 22.9 AFD, 3.4 SD, 14.7 CV

AOA# 32428247DOB: 9/22/201212 yrs
Alejandro has consistently produced off-spring with extreme fineness and uniformity, which are dark with low AFD and SD, and that have a gorgeous phenotype. Alejandro's cria have consistently shown to be conformationally sound with a compact square frame and a large bone structure. They sport densely fine fleece with superb uniformity and complete coverage. Full-face coverage with show-winning accolades is commonly found with most. We are impressed with the off-spring Alejandro has produced for us. They are conformationally sound with large bone structure. Phenotypically off the charts. The fleece is outstanding in deep rich consistent color, incredible density, incredible uniformity, and crimp! Alejandro's genetic testing indicates that his color genotype is: Ee a1a2 which means that he carries one dilution gene and both alleles are black. This means he can produce light-colored offspring depending on the color genotype of the dam. Typically, Alejandro produces black when bred to females who have black behind them or are black. Alejandro has produced an ultra-fine black fleece that has retained impressive histogram numbers through the years. At 5 years of age, he was still producing fleece as fine as the juveniles. He has been consistent both in the staple and across the blanket, down the hip, and up into the neck. Alejandro has a gorgeous phenotype with a true macho look. He has a laid-back, gentle demeanor. Alejandro has unique extensive black and grey genetics that make him perfect for a dark breeding program. Alejandro's first histogram at 8 1/2 months old is AFD 16.6 SD 3.5 CV 20 % OVER 30 0.6.....Impressive fineness and consistency in a black fleece. His 2024 histogram results are as follows AFD 23.6 SD 3.5 CV 14.9 CF 100%. Alejandro is co-owned with Jen and Marty Koop of Natty West Alpacas and will be splitting his time between our farms.

Description

Every once in a while, you are blessed with a special cria. Quinn is one of those for us. This female is sweet. She is gorgeous. Quinn is the picture of what I imagine when breeding Kodiak. She is a female version of her sire. At Quinn's debut in the show ring, she brought home four Champion banners and the coveted Judge's Choice Award from Amanda VandenBosch. Quinn combines Kodiak and McKenzi, both multiple-color champions. Quinn's lineage includes; Jaxon, Axtion Jaxon, Kodiak, Accoyo Mega Tron, Accoyo Zeus, Titan, Legacy, Snowmass Millenium, Charmingway, The Elite Maximus, Yupanqui, Kilya, Timoteo, McKala, and DPA Mayflower. She is stacked with heavy hitters! Enjoy the journey, well it has been a journey over several years with too many losses. Patience is a virtue, so here we are with our first cria from Quinn. She was worth the wait. This true black female was born with tight highly organized crimp on day one. This organization is consistent around her belly and to her knees. Her phenotype is beautiful with full face coverage and a little beard. Her coloring is true black with no contamination. So the journey continues. With God's blessings we will repeat this pairing for next year. 2020 Histogram micron 20.7 SD 4.0 CV 19.2 CF 97.7% Quinn is confirmed BVDV negative.
