Iron is back in our pastures for semi retirement.. we will have from time to time progeny and potentially bred females for sale. One of his female offspring we kept in our breeding program is the dam of the 2023 AOA Grey Fleece Color Champion.. AND she is Harlequin.. so we thought maybe we should eek a few more cria out.. inquiries welcome. 2015 Histograms just in! AFD 24.7 SD 4.5 CV 18.1 CV 89.7 Curve 36.4 at FIVE YEARS OLD!!! What can I say - when Dee Sousa ran up to me at the bar at the 2011 Futurity and said "wanna go in on Iron!!!" how could I say NO... and so the story began - we had the winning bid and we took this little weanling home with us. His full sister sold that day for over $80,000.... we KNEW we had a winner - we just had to wait while he grew up. And grow up he did - winning a number of championships along the way including a sweep at IAO 2012 winning the Grey Male COMMERCIAL Halter Championship and Reserve Grey Male COTTAGE Fleece Championship - A fleece good for BOTH divisions!! And THIS YEAR SPINNERS DREAM IAO 2013 - The top award in the Cottage Fleece division! So yeah - he has WON a whole rack of ribbons for us, but really? What I am excited about is his fantastic fineness and the consistency of that fineness thru out his fleece and colored fibers - they are ALL fine... beautiful hand, stocky bone, BEST HEAD IAO 2011!! so yeah - really nice head too.. and all that color... and all those ever so famous ancestors - what a pedigree this boy has - very deep - very proven.. I simply can't wait to get MY first offspring on the ground - he is going to ROCK our colored huacaya breeding program. Check out his pedigree, look over his winnings.. if you had a chance to get look at his fleece while he was on our show string! Well you KNOW its good. We have 2 of his offspring in our foundation APPY herd. He is listed for sale for the first time! Since we are only breeding for APPY now in our huacayas.

Enchanted Hill LuTau

HuacayaJr. Herdsire (Male)Light Fawn, Dark Fawn
AOA# 35262589DOB: 5/16/20159 yrs
LuTau is a striking appaloosa male that has a good chance of being homozygous for the appaloosa gene, so you "serious" appaloosa breeders need to check this guy out! LuTau's fleece has incredible crimp, structure, and staple. If you are breeding for appaloosas, or are even considering breeding for this unusual pattern, LuTau is not one to miss! His fleece is one to behold - great architecture in the long staple, with blinding brightness and consistency. And check out his histogram from a sample submitted of both light and dark fibers; AFD 17.6, SD 3.6, Curvature 64.3. That SD of 3.6 is fantastic when considering the sample was both his light and dark fawn colors! LuTau is the first cria from Vintage Cashmere's U-Taupe-Ia, a male with the appaloosa gene on both sides of the family (Hannaruh and Chiquita). LuTau's dam is the amazingly-patterned appaloosa, Enchanted Hill Appalucy, who also has the appaloosa gene on both sides of the family (Maria's Angel, LTD Treasure, and Xus). That's FIVE different appaloosa genes coming together in this male! In 2016, he stormed through his show career, never taking anything lower than a blue ribbon! On April 9, 2016, LuTua took the blue in walking fleece and the blue in halter at the California Classic, and on October 23, 2016 received another blue ribbon at the Alpaca Breeders Invitational in Oregon! In April 2017, LuTau finished his show career with yet another blue ribbon at the California Classic. LuTau's cria have started to arrive! In Fall 2018, he sired 3 cria - all appaloosas out of solid dams. And in 2019, he's added another 2 appaloosa cria, making him 5-for-5!

Description

Leap is the only female cria to survive her Dam Inti-Sapa's Sunrise. Sunny had lots of crias for us, but it was only some of her male crias that made it out of cria-hood, due to various reasons. She had one male crias that grew to become Champion and herdsire. Leap was the last cria that Sunny had. Born on leap day, we were thrilled that she made it! Including a bout with Coryne as a cria. She has given us a nice boy out of Manchu, just about his last cria. She is bred this year to LuTau to see of we can pull some SPOTS!!. Leap is one of those females that will remain with us for her forever. She is one of 2 Iron daughters that are slated for our APPY breeding program. Heres hopin for SPOTS. AND BOY DID WE GET EM... lovely fleece on her boy to boot! He placed Reserve Champion at the 2022 Gold Country Gathering. We plan to expose Leap to the amazing Rare Gem Xman for another wonderfull SPOTTY cria!
