The results came back from the skin biopsy which are very favourable: Below is a write up from Jim Watts, MV. Sc, Ph.D: He is a rather special male!!! Jim Watts analysis: The 14 month old alpaca, FDA Rembrandt, has high levels of fiber density and fiber length. The density reading of 67.7 follicles per square millimeter will be lower when the animal reaches mature body size, but not sufficient to alter the fact that it is a high density animal. This view is supported by the high level of secondary follicle development that has occurred - a secondary follicle to primary follicle ratio of 13.5 to 1 is exceptional for an alpaca. The primary fibers and secondary fibers are fine in diameter (means of 24.5 microns and 17.6 microns respectively) and very uniform in diameter (standard deviations of fiber diameter of 2.9 microns respectively). Note the low level of medullation (13%) in the secondary fiber population - a feature that is sought and only accompanies alpacas with a very fine and uniform fleeces. The fibers are growing in length at the fast rate of 0.55 millimeters per day.

El Nino x Archangel cross!

Kamikaze's Angelique

HuacayaBred (Female)White
AOA# 32740851DOB: 7/8/201212 yrs
** SOLD** **Update - Angelique has been moved to the farm that is getting the 2020 offspring. We can't wait to see the Angelique x Branson match. I'm placing a bet on a stunning fawn female for this one! ___________________________________ Angelique has been bred to our recent Canadian import - 5x color champion, Arriba Branson. This cria is already spoken for. We will await our following year for our next turn. So excited for the lucky new owners that will get this cria!! ;) If Angelique gets sold prior before delivery of the cria, the owners of the cria will be the buyers. Angelique is confirmed pregnant. ____________________________________ Angelique has done it again! Most farms are disappointed when their females give birth to males. NOT US. We know that our foundation females are keys to the kingdom. When Angelique delivered an incredible male this year, cheers went up! We LOVE this guy! _____________________________________ May 2018 - we were starting to question whether or not Angelique was pregnant or not and lo and behold...an 18.5# bouncing baby girl entered the barn ready to take on the entire pasture at full speed! WOWZA! Well played, Angelique! (This is yet another reason why she ranks high as a foundation female!) ______________________________________ All the stars have aligned on this girl. Ancestors tell the story - the impact males and females provide the traits for the next generations, and Angelique has been blessed with everything that her parents and grandparents had to offer. Angelique was chosen to be one of our foundation girls for two reasons - she had the fiber qualities AND the conformation traits we look for in one package. Her fiber (thanks to her ancestors!) is bright, crimpy, soft, fine, dense, abundant, and is both long is staple length and provides abundant coverage. Her frame is upright, correct, strong, large boned, with full chest capacity. She is alert and has wonderful presence. This is truly the making of an elite foundation female.

Description

Oh what a STRIKING young male! Indeed, we knew exactly what we were intending when we doubled up the genetics for this youngster. Power and impact ancestors on both sides of his parents paid off just like we hoped. We are surprised when we open this male's fiber as it is actually light fawn when the fiber is parted at the topline and it fades to beige/white to the belly. Since he has color in his background (thanks to his ancestry) we are not totally surprised. This young male with incredible curb appeal is just divine! Soft, bright, consistent, crimpy, fine, and dense fiber - all set upon on a very correct and strong frame! What an outstanding young potential herdsire we are seeing develop before our eyes!
