BLACK BEAU'S COMET

SuriHerdsire (Male)Light Brown
AOA# 35118275DOB: 11/29/201410 yrs
Comet is a 7 time banner winner and is the result of combining some great genetics. His sire is Black Beau of PVA. Comet is from the Mahogany Prince to Kobe to Diamonte to Black Beau line of champion PVA genetics. Black Beau inherited great fleece statistics. Black Beau had EPDs that improved AFD, SDAFD, SF, %>30, MSL, and FW. It was expected that he'd improve every measurable aspect of a fleece in his progeny. Black Beau also had the most beautiful Suri conformation to pass on to his offspring. Comet's dam was sired by Saladin, a bay black that produced champion offspring including the true black male Psylent Knight. His dam's dam comes from a line of outstanding fine micron fleeces tracing back to imported males Sedoso and Huacho. Before we got her in the EPD pool, Comet's dam Hermione died and he was her only offspring. Hermione's dam Lianka is in the top 2% of EPDs for AFD and at age 9 had an AFD of 25.1 microns. Lianka is maintaining a fineness as she ages. Lianka's dam was tested at age 1 and had a 17.4 micron AFD and her grandmother at age 4 years had a 15.2 micron AFD. Comet has great fleece genetics both in the top and bottom of his pedigree. Comet has been part of the AOA's EPDs since 2017 and the current results can be seen using the EPD link. He's almost top 1% for staple length at 1.08%. Overall, the EPD rankings are excellent like we expected and it is expected that he will improve every trait in his offspring just like his sire Black Beau. The histogram for the EPD testing shows at age 2.5 years Comet has matured into a dark dawn male with uniform grade 3 fleece. Besides the histograms, Comet has a skin biopsy indicating he has great fleece genetics to pass on to offspring. Besides data, the lock structure of Comet's fleece is outstanding. He maintained a great lock structure in full fleece well past age 2 years. Those locks will be passed on to his progeny. The locks pictured are at 18 months of age. In that picture one can also see the luster is good. Comet has the fleece genetics, but really he is the whole package. He will also stamp on his crias exemplary Suri conformation. He has the exceptional Suri head from his sire Black Beau and great fleece coverage. He's a solidly built male of good stature. So as a herdsire, Comet should improve your herd in many areas from fineness of fleece to lock structure to conformation to the good sized solid build. His first cria was born in September of 2018 and he looks awesome! Norm Evan's biopsy from December of 2016. Density: 61.5 follicles per sq mm.....S/P ratio: 12.4 to 1.....Glands: 2 of 4 SAFD: 24.9 microns.....PAFD: 35.6 microns.....S to P Spread: 10.7 microns We proudly co-own Comet with Sycamore Ridge Alpacas in Oklahoma.

GRACE'S KINLEY BY ELECTROFYRE

SuriOpen (Female)White
AOA# 35311478DOB: 6/7/20159 yrs
Grace is the daughter of Electrofyre, 9 time Judge's Choice winner including 4 of them at the largest shows in the country. Electrofyre has Ramilo as his grandsire on the top. Ramilo won 25 Get of Sire 1st place ribbons and his son Phoenix, Electrofyre's sire, was part of that 25th win. The bottom of Electrofyre's pedigree is a Pucara Kahuna daughter! That makes the top part of Grace's pedigree an outstanding combination of great white herdsires in Ramilo, Phoenix, Electrofyre and Kahuna and it's no wonder that her sire had such an outstanding show career. The bottom of her pedigree is filled with outstanding true black herdsires in Midas Touch, King Kong, Kobe of PVA, and Lebron of PVA. Overall, Grace has outstanding champion genetics. Grace's fleece is a very pure white and has luster galore! The locks are an open layered lock structure and the lock structure is very consistent throughout the fleece. The fleece is extremely dense and has good staple length regrowth. The sample we sent to Yocom-McColl for EPD testing came back with a grade 3 AFD of 25.3 microns. It has a good standard deviation of AFD of 4.6 microns and a great coefficient of variation of 18.3%. The EPDs can be seen by clicking on the link. In addition to her awesome fleece, Grace has solid confirmation and fleece coverage. Her fleece, though, is the reason why we were interested in having Grace as a production female because we feel that when bred to some of our outstanding herdsires the results will be excellent. On July 3rd, 2018, Grace had a 16.7 lb. dark fawn male sired by our herdsire Anvil. We named him Skyfyre and he has a great Suri phenotype and has a fine, dense, and lustrous fleece that is nicely locked. Skyfyre placed 2nd in a tough juvie class of 6 at GWAS in 2019 (first in his class was the RC) and was again 2nd in his class at the 2020 AOA National Halter Show. Unfortunately, Covid-19 cancelled the rest of the spring 2020 shows. On July 18, 2019, Grace had her second cria. It was an 18.2 lb. white female sired by our herdsire Comet. One can see in the picture she has great conformation, great fleece coverage, and a fleece that exhibits luster, fineness and organization. On June 14, 2022 Grace had 16.6 lb. white female cria sired by Duke. The white female cria from 2022 that is by her side will be included in the purchase making it 2 for the price of 1.

Description

Gem is a very well bred Suri female. Gem was sired by our 7 time banner winner Black Beau's Comet. Comet is a son of true black National and Futurity champion Black Beau, grandson of Diamonte, and great-grandson of Kobe. Yes, Comet is from that great PVA lineage. On the bottom of Comet's pedigree is a daughter of Saladin. Bay black Saladin sired some outstanding offspring including the true black champion Psylent Knight. Comet's dam's dam comes from a line that has great fleece stats in regards to fineness. Being sired by Comet means Gem has great genetics on the top of her pedigree. Gem's dam, Grace's Kinley By Electrofyre, was sired by 9 time Judge's Choice winner WLK Electrofyre and it's proven that he is siring champions as he has 14 Get of Sire wins to his name. Electrofyre also sired the back to back Nationals Light Sure Male Supreme Champion in 2016 and 2017 named Electrofyre's Cosmic Dust! Gem's dam's dam does not quite have the genetic notoriety of the rest of the pedigree, but it does contain two great champion black males in Kobe of PVA and King Kong. From top to bottom, Gem's pedigree is that of a winner. When we chose Gem’s sire and dam, we did so by looking at the EPDs in addition to the combination of championship genetics found in both of them. Comet's EPDs are pretty strong from top to bottom, but the worst ranking is for SDAFD. That is Grace's strongest ranking of the top four EPDs. Both of them have strong rankings for staple length and fleece weight. Comet's ranking for staple length are Top 1%. Gem has been given estimated EPDs for 2019 and they are good (check them out by clicking on the link). It's no wonder that the fleece on Gem shows all indications of being one that has great density. It is also a fleece that is fine and lustrous. She's a well put together female with good bone, a solid frame, and good proportions to her conformation. We can't wait to see how she continues to develop. We feel like she could end up being special. Time will tell.
