We were blown away by this little girl's bundled fleece. She has retained her beautiful fleece in her second year and has shown well at her only 2 shows. Very outgoing personality and loves to talk to you. She's a do anything alpaca. Winning reds, blues and all colors in obstacles, showmanship and even costume. With the lines behind this girl we expect she will become an excellent foundation female. We bred her to Velasco de Alta Vista. We think this male was a perfect match for this lovely girl. ** Pia delivered a gorgeous LF male out of Velasco early in October 2015! ** Pia's second cria was a delightful multi out of the award winning sire Hobby Horse of a Different Color ** Since she has thrown color twice, we are trying her with the super dense Multi colored Dorian son Glacier. ** Pia did it again - her 2019 cria is the spitting image of his multi-colored sire. She's 3 for 3 letting the sire's color/pattern come through. ** 6/22 - Pia delivered an extremely healthy girl. White crimpy fiber and growing fast! (2/24) In 20 years of doing this we've never bred an animal and not written down who and when but it appears that we have in this case. Pia is large and growing larger, we see movement in her belly and there is no way any boy is getting close to her so we are predicting a spring baby. 5/31/24 - I was right - Pia delivered a HUGE 22# white female. I have my suspicions as to the daddy, but time will tell!

Description

Klondike is exactly what we'd hoped for when we bred Pia to his carbon copy dad Glacier. This boy is one of the strongest, fastest growing animals we've had on the farm. Klondike at a year is progressing nicely. His dark fiber is as close to true black as it could be. The dark fiber is as fine or finer than his white and it is dense and crimpy. Klondike started breeding in the spring of 2022 with great efficiency. Get a really reasonable breeding on a super-flashy boy before he has cria hitting the ground for the best price. While we don't want to let go of his genetics (at least til we have some offspring on the farm), we would consider a co-ownership. His 1st cria surely did not disappoint! He has a white band around his neck and the white on his hind left leg goes up to his hip. One of my favorites the spring of 2023.
