Fortunato's Ali-Accoyo Raina
HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Fawn
AOA# 32412192DOB: 5/15/201113 yrs
Unfortunately, we lost Raina and her cria during a breach delivery. She was one of our best and she produced incredible offspring. We will miss her. Rest in peace my beautiful girl!
Her 2019 cria out of Houdini didn't want to be born on Friday the 13th, so he arrived at 6 PM on Thursday, September 12! Great looking medium fawn male -- and he's got those rolls on the back of his neck! Raina really rocks the casbah! You may or may not have heard that her 2018 male offspring garnered 3 championships in 3 shows --- and subsequently sold to Tierra Prometida & Rancho Inca!
Raina is an amazing foundation female. She produces very nice crias with outstanding fleece length, character and density...we just wish she'd produce a female for us!
Raina's a full peruvian -- 1/2 Accoyo, 1/2 Alianza -- medium fawn daughter of Heather's Acre Accoyo Sirius. She has abundant, bright fleece, with excellent density and coverage right down to her toes. She has stellar conformation, with great bone and an awesome head! In addition, she's a great mom and she has an incredibly gentle disposition. Her lineage includes Hemingway, Vengador, Predictor, Odyssey and others.
Her 2018 MF cria, Titan, out of Sunset Hills Zagato, received a RC banner in halter, with the Judge calling him exquisite, and 1st place in Walking Fleece at the 2019 CAC Show. He's turning into a really nice young male! At his first show, VAOBA, one of the judges walked up to his pen and inquired if he was as nice on the inside as he appeared to be on the outside!...well, he's pretty darn nice and getting nicer all the time! Zagato offspring have been winning in the show ring, and they are highly sought after. He is now closed to outside breedings, so we feel fortunate to have gotten this little guy! Looking at Titan this early, it appears he'll follow strongly in his herdsire's footsteps, and he definitely carries the amazing fleece length and density of his dam. See Titan's web page for more info.
Sadly, we lost Raina's 2019 male cria to aspiration pneumonia (our fault, not hers). We are heartbroken for her and for us. His passing coincided with a birth on the same day to a dam whose milk hadn't yet come in. Raina squealed with joy, at first thinking this to be her lost cria, but quickly realized it wasn't. Nonetheless, she soon agreed to allow this little lovely to nurse while her mother's milk came in.
