Modern Grey STUD - Stunningly uniform

SSAFL Michelangelo's Peruvian Cupid

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 30838215DOB: 2/14/200717 yrs
Cupid is a handsome, macho modern grey herdsire with incredible curb appeal. He has a striking bright, dense, uniform fleece that has incredible handle. He is conformationally sound, and is strong boned. Cupid's first crias, lovely modern grey females also (Daphne and Delilah) were born the summers of 2010 and 2011. Cupid's offspring have proven themselves in the show ring winning Color Championships. His first female offspring, Daphne has gone on to produce a classic rose grey female who just won her first color championship at the level 5 GWAS show in Denver (2015). His second female offspring, Delilah has been awarded two color championships and many blue ribbons. Delilah resides here at Willow Wind Farm along with her two award winning daughters (Bombers Diamond Lil and Willowwind's Bombers Cloud Princess). Cupid is the sire of champions, who have gone on to produce champions and is unique in his ability to fairly consistenly throw a gorgeous modern grey fleece with superior density and consistency. Cupid sired a gorgeous modern grey male, The Shaman, who just won first place at National Western Stock show in a competitive class of yearling grey males (Jan 2020). It was not surprising that he was chosen for first due to his superior consistency and density when compared to his class (summary of Judges comments). He sports a gorgeous blue roan (silver grey)fleece (Picture included). Cupid is available for breedings. If a consistent dense modern grey is in your plans - this is your guy! Cupid is proudly co-owned with Paul and Lindy Huber of Seldom Scene Farm.

Dam: Emerald Farm's Inga Cloud

A Legacy Female with Super Powers

Emerald Farm's Inga Cloud

HuacayaOpen (Female)Dark Brown
AOA# 847593DOB: 8/3/200321 yrs
I was so incredibly fortunate to get this girl from Tres Amigos Ranch from my dear friends Nancy and Brian Thompson. Inga is responsible in part for setting my course. She is the corner stone. I retained almost all of her offspring and her offsprings offspring and even now her offpsring's offspring's offspring. A true dam line here at the farm with her as the matriarch. She is just outstanding. One of only a handful of dark Legacy female offspring. In fact Im not sure she isnt the ONLY dark female Legacy offspring. Her dam is none other than Carmen Cloud, Dam to Orlando Cloud. Those combinations are simply not that available. She is fierce. She is calm. She is steady. A Dam of Champions. She is just ONE of those females. Inga just gave birth to a bouncing Bea-2 Bomber girl who we named B2B Kira - super excited to show her this spring. Same gorgeous fleece. Lots of it. Cute as a button. And Sassy! I have my sights set on an elite modern grey for her next match. She is getting up there in age. My oldest breeding female on the farm at 16 years. Her histogram for 2018 resulted in a 24 micron. While pregnant. Just love her. Inga was bred to Silver Lining for a 2021 offspring and she hit it right out of the park. A simply gorgeous elite modern grey male. We named him Intrepid. He was definitely one of those males that falls in the very highly hopeful category. Sadly, we lost him to a freak accident. We are heartbroken. Inga is now 18. She is showing me in a million ways that she would love to be bred again. We shall see. She is in great condition. She loves her babies. Maybe one more? Inga is not for sale.

Description

The Shaman. Out of Inga Cloud paired with Cupid - a pairing that just seems to deliver over and over again. When this boy was born it was like a dream come true. I often hope for a female (dont we all?) but this one I wanted a male. And I wanted a modern grey male. And I wanted a modern grey male that showcased his Daddy's color, density and uniformity of fleece and his Momma's proud nature and optimal conformation and fleece character. And THAT is what I got. A slate grey tip to toe male. I had some folks at shearing last season (2021) and the folks visiting (experienced breeders; all of them) nearly dropped when I brought this guy out. To say he is a good looking animal is just the under statement of under statements. "The MOST attractive animal I have ever seen." "There is literally no guard hair ANYWHERE" "That color!" Shaman won first place at the National Western Stock Show (2020) in a competitive group of yearling grey males. And he won, according to the judge, because of his strong character, outstanding consistency and uniformity and superior conformation traits. Shaman easily settled 6 females in 2021. At 2 years old - not much interest but at 3? He jumped in without hesitation. First time was a charm for all. All the females were dark/modern grey except one. One was an elite white. Call me crazy but I was curious. I simply cannot say enough about this guy and I cannot wait to see the outcome. Histo results for 2021: 25.3/4.9SD you may be thinking - why even post those results? BECAUSE he is the most impressively uniform dense and consistently colored modern I have ever laid eyes on. BECAUSE his daddy is also not the finest guy on the block but delivers outstanding results pretty much every time. More to come. Keep an eye on this boy. I have plans for him.
