High Plains Quicksand

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Light Fawn
AOA# 200000691, CLAA# DOB: 8/3/200420 yrs
**This male has also put black on the ground!!!! ________________________ A SUPER SAM son in the USA! In light fawn! Quicksand has his own championship merits to stand on, but his ancestry backs him up. Normally, these generics are held close to the vest and not shared. We believe in moving the industry forward in measured increments. So we will sparingly share this male. Quicksand is a multiple champion Super Sam son. His dam is a dam of SUPREME champions. Normally we don't need to say much more...but we can and will... Quicksand has all the attributes which make him the "ideal" alpaca: - sound, well balanced "box-like" conformation, which moves flawlessly - great bone density on a fully covered and upright frame - excellent head shape, with a correct bite - calm temperament - heavy fleece which is: easily parted - ultra fine super bright - uniform long in staple length organized and even in crimp style He is truly one of the males that makes you stop what you are doing and just stare. He is the complete package. So go ahead, we don't mind. Stare. For he is stunning. Then take the judges' advice...breed all your females to this guy...he is the real deal. ________________________________ For the breeders who know Super Sam…no explanation is needed. Quicksand is a multiple champion Super Sam son. And Westwind Aleta produces SUPREME CHAMPION offspring. For those who haven’t heard of Super Sam…he is THE 16x Get-of-Sire award winning sire…THE Futurity winning herdsire male….THE herdsire to Futurity and Color and Supreme Champions in a whole array of colors….THE stud who changed the way the Canadians defined a true impact stud sire…THE stud who is CLOSED to outside breedings….and, of course, THE sire…to Quicksand.

Aussie Angelica's Charmer

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Brown
AOA# 35118800DOB: 9/12/201410 yrs
**Update Aug 2024 - ultrasound confirmed no cria for this year. Looks like Charmer gets the year off! **Update Fall 2023 - Another stunning female cria for 2023! AWESOME! We LOVE these female offspring from Charmer! Lucky us!!! Charmer has also been rebred to Resolute for a Sept 2024 offspring - Nov 2023 confirmed via ultrasound. **Update Aug 2022 - Charmer is bred to Creedence for a 2023 offspring. Surprise! **Update July 2021 - it's another replica of CiCi - but a bouncing baby brother who looks just as awesome! SCORE! **Update Aug 2020 - CiCi, Charmer's 2020 cria, is nothing short of awesome. We have bred Charmer back to Branson for a 2021 offspring. Why mess with perfection? **Update June 2020 - a stunning medium fawn female for Charmer x Branson! This dam just loves to give us female offspring! Score! We can't wait to see how this 19# cria develops! ______________________________ It isn't often that you find a cross of Victor's HemiAccoyo Casanova x Lancaster. And when you do, you certainly don't just pass it up. Esp when you understand the power of the genetics here. The fleece on this girl is amazingly fine, yet so, so dense. It fools us until we shear it - it come off so bright and slick that it almost seems like it is wet. It is so fine that we have to also be careful that it is cria-like in that everything wants to stick to it (like cria velcro) yet, when we weigh the shearing, it is an amazing weight - the density is just incredible! Charmer is a girl that holds some amazing genetics. We have paired her up with a multi-champion champion fawn Canadian import, Branson, to add density and more structure to her ultra-fine fiber. With her sire ancestry, this ideal matchup should be stunning. Charmer is co-owned with Oak Crest Alpacas in Downs, IL.

with male cria at side

Description

**Summer 2024 - It's a male replica of Mimi at her side this summer - another gorgeous maroon with grey genetics! Mimi seems to deliver consistent well proportioned, solid offspring just as any fantastic foundation female should. Since we have her dam and sister, we are letting Mimi (and cria) go at a reduced price to make space in our pastures. _______ **2023 - Mimi does it again! A stunning fawn male in the image of his champion sire! How excited we are for this one, especially since his sire is out in Oregon right now! This youngster is the total package! SCORE! **Update May 2022 - it's a perfect image of momma! A maroon boy and future stud! Can't wait to see how he starts to mature, but right now he is busy running around the pastures.Welcome to the world handsome!! Let her charm your socks off! Mimi has grown into a well developed and well proportioned female. She is correct and strong in bone and frame and since conformation is spot on we turn next to look at fleece traits. Mimi has an incredible handle - indicating that she has amazing consistency in her beautiful maroon fleece. She has a very fine fleece so we think choosing to add density to her next generation by breeding her to either fawn champion - Branson or Oro will be a good decision. Or increase odds of grey and breed her to the stunning Color Champion, Creedence? Then again, with her black points, leaning towards Oreo Ben seems like a no-brainer. Of course, I wouldn't shy away from a stunning white with her background either - Defcon or Romeo would also add amazing density, character and curb appeal to next generation as well. Any decision will be difficult but the result will be outstanding. Mimi is an elegant cross of Victor's HemiAccoyo Casanova x Lancaster crossed with some Canadian genetics (Super Sam) to provide some added "new" genetics to the mix for diversity. We quietly acquired Mimi's dam (Aussie Angelica's Charmer) because of her background and added diversity to the background and crossed our fingers hoping she would keep her color (medium brown) in her offspring - and she did! This mini charmer is co-owned with Oak Crest Alpacas in Downs, IL.
