AOA# 30633209DOB: 8/13/200618 yrs
2013 DARK FUTURITY HERDSIRE OF THE YEAR 2011 RESERVE FUTURITY HERDSIRE OF THE YEAR 2013 FUTURITY DARK GET CLASS WINNER TOP RANKING MSL AND FW EPD'S Futurity Judges Choice video. Chakotah in 2011 had a son win four Judges Choice awards, (Pucara) Chakotah's Wyuna, and a daughter, Buzz n Hum Layla who won GWAS 2011 Judges Choice. Chakotah ALSO won the Nationals and GWAS Get classes with our Pucara Kahuna, his grandfather, in second both times. His cria won championships and ribbons in many shows all over the country. When we first started our alpaca farm here in the US the first sale we made of our own suris was to Ann and Bill Rogers at CCR Alpacas. We asked Ann and Bill if they would let us know when one of those girl's, Kalina, had her cria and we would consider purchasing it. As it turned out they decided to send Kalina along with several of our own females to be bred to Moon River's Durango, at our sincere urging!!! Jude and I adored Durango. He was a stand out in the show ring winning a championship in all his shows but more importantly to us he had exquisite genetics. Those breedings produced two national Champions for us and several ribbon winners. When Kalina gave birth Ann excitedly called us and raved about the cria. Well we know owners get a bit barn blind about their animals so we asked for pics....man oh man, he looked fabulous. We visited CCR Alpacas soon thereafter and purchased a half share of this boy, Chakotah....at two months of age!!! It's insane, the first time we have been so bold but in the flesh he even looked better than the pics. The Kahuna daughter, Kalina, had produced a knockout cria. Chakotah's performance in the show ring has been exemplary. He exhibits extreme greasy luster, super silky handle, density in thick well defined locks from one end of his sturdy frame to the other and fineness. All with a proud masculine head on a well balanced body. As a mature male his frame is magnificent. Everything a stud male suri should be approaching 10 years of age - head style, frame, chest capacity, and above all great libido and fertility. Was this to be expected from the intial breeding. We hoped so because it was the marriage of genetics from Peruvian Bruxo, Peruvian Uribe, Peruvian Augustina (McGyver's mom), Pperuvian Amador and Peruvian Cadete (Accoyo foundation herdsires of our female herd), Pucara Kahuna and Pucara Allegro who had 37 championship winning cria in Australia of which 17 won Best in Show! The odds were stacked in our favor and are now stacked in yours because there is little room for deviation of outcome with this punch of prepotence. If you have a good female you'll get a great cria with this breeding. Chakotah kids have been wowing them all over the country. They have won championships and Judges Choice Awards in strong company !!! We think he is turning out to be every bit as good if not better than his grandfather Kahuna! The show kids have won championships in both color a

Co-owned with Britt and Patty at Hasselbring Harmony Ranch Kekoa is the product of a lot of planning and sourcing of genetics we admire. We were stoked when he has born and he is a fabulous breeder for us. His production has been wonderful. Consistent, fine, dense and with that "Pucara" look we have striven to achieve and maintain. How often is it that your eye is taken by a stud male, you charge in to look at the fleece and damn it either the fineness or the density is below the quality of the other trait! They are what is known as antagonistic traits. This is where Kekoa stands apart. He exhibits incredible luster as a result of the fineneess, the uniformity of micron and the accentuated density. It is truly a luscious fleece. He is the result of bringing together prepotent suri lines that have dominated in the US. It includes, Stud males: Kahuna, Uribe, Ganador, Bruxo, Ramilo, Rockstar! Stud females: Mandalay, Halona Happy Fortune, Silkworm, Gracie, Augustina, Maria. Kekoa got a big slice of the girls in our ET program in 2017. Not something we would normally do without seeing cria...BUT...there is NO weakness in his pedigree, none! And it is a variation we have tried to achieve because bringing the Rockstar daughter who is the dam, Young Alberta, to breed with Kahuna's Tikanui introduced Rockstar to our stud female PureSuri Mandalay which was an equation never done before. Mandalay has been producing stud quality males no matter who she We wanted a new line somewhat connected to our best but removed enough so we could bring it back to the Kahuna line at a later date. Young Alberta had a successful show career but more than anything it was her extreme luster and accentuated locking which qualified our purchase of her. Now her sire, Pucara PurSuri Kahuna's Tikanui now owned by the Hasselbrings has been a prolific force lately in the show ring winning get awards and Futurity Herdsire of the Year awards. Kekoa has more than pleased us with a run of cria some which have taken our breath away! Is it any wonder?

Description

If you would like a colored female with the best of white and colored genetics in her family tree look no further. Pucara Chakotah's Amandine is the considered result of us using our white genetics fused with colored genetics from the US herd to produce colored progeny but not loose the fiber traits we revere in suri alpacas. Concerned we may lose the fiber traits our suris are known for we fortified this family tree by having Pucara Kahuna as both the paternal great grandfather (12.5%) and the maternal grandfather (25%)….in essence being just 37.5% of Amandine's genetics as opposed to if Kahuna was the sire he would be 50%. This is explained for those of you who question line breeding! But it was done as explained to maintain the luster and uniformity of micron our suris have. The sire, Chakotah of CCR Suris, is another example of us using our white to produce quality in color by breeding to reliable color genetics that had an abundance of elite suri traits. The sire of Chakotah is Moon River's Peruvian Durango. Exported to Australia after we had bred ten females to him. Over there he became maker of National Australian champions. When we first saw him we were gob smacked by the tremendous luster, fineness and density. We had never seen anything like it in colored suris, anywhere! The reason for Durango's mighty phenotype, he had MacGyver, Uribe and Bruxo and that was added to Kahuna and our very famous Aussie stud male, Pucara Allegro via Pucara Kalina Chakotah's dam. So much powerful family contribution of superior fiber genetics. So we had booked the breedings to Durango. We had a bag full of ribbons as a result, even National Champions! One of the females, Pucara Kalina ( Kahuna daughter) produced Chakotah. This began his very successful show career. He then became a Futurity Herdsire and Reserve Herdsire of the Year, we think the ultimate compliment for a suri stud male. His male offspring Wyuna became the first suri male to win both light and dark herdsire of the Year in the same year. Back to Amandine. Chakotah was bred to Pucara Carrie, she being a Kahuna daughter from a female that was the daughter of Pucara Allgro's sire Pperuvian Cadete. Again, reinforcing the fiber traits we want. The result, a beautiful mid fawn female, Pucara Chakotah's Amandine! Amandine's fleece was bursting with luster, had a gorgeous soft handle and she had the "Pucara" head we have tried so much to preserve. Her frame is correct, good bite and she has been a wonderful mother to her 2018 cria Nani Loa, sired by TSSS Tikanui's Kekoa, and who we think is very very good show material! Because we no longer show she is available for you to get the ribbons.. We would highly advise talking to us for breeding advice for Amandine. Early spring we will breed her back to Kekoa becaue her cria, Nani Loa is so good!
