Every once in a while a herdsire arrives on the scene that turns everyone's head. Enlightenment is just that herdsire. Per Snowmass Alpacas, "Enlightenment is the most magnificent grey stud we have ever produced". Per the 2009 Kentucky Classic Judge, without a doubt, best male animal in the show. This stunning male combines perfect confirmation and magnificent fleece. He is the "Total Package". Enlightenment is co-owned with Morning Beckons Farm. Enlightenment is a restricted herdsire and outside breedings will be limited to 5 per year at both Heatherbrook Farms and Morning Beckons Farm. He currently has 70 registered offspring. Out of the toughest screening program for importations in 1998, Octavia has produced eight (8) crias for us and her 2006 son, Emperor Octavian, out of MFI Brock was the first male, followed by 2 daughters and then Orlando, a black male in 2009. Her daughters are excellent producers and her progeny have amassed many show ribbons. 2007 & 2008 & 2010 crias are FEMALE!! In 2007, she had a beautiful beige girl named FRA Peruvian Ophelia, born 8/2/07 out of Royal Peruvian Avanti and Odessa, born 8/10/08 out of Aladdin...and now Opal, born 10/1/2010. Note those birth dates! This Golden Girl produces each year without any assistance, has plenty of milk and rebreeds easily on schedule. WOW: Look at her micron at 10 years of age: AFD 24.7; SD only 4.2; CV only 17.0 You won't get any more uniform than this, and holding her fiber character at 12 years old.

Zombie Rockstar has been a favorite on the farm since the day he was born. His lovely fleece was such a surprise with its' softness and beginnings of real structure at a very tender age. His maternal and paternal lines are known for softness of handle and lingering fineness. These are two very important characteristics to us and our program. How delighted we are to see them both exhibited so nicely in this junior herdsire. To illustrate where he is maturing to with these desirable fleece traits, here are a few scores from his 33.8 month fleece when it competed in 2015 at the Royal Alpaca Challenge and took a 1st Place win (Judge Kathy Klay): Fineness and Handle 17 (out of 20) Uniformity: Micron 7 (out of 8) Length 6.5 (out of 7) Color 4.5 (out of 5) Z has competed and bannered in both Gray and Indefinite Dark. We believe he is actually Dark Rose Gray as I believe you would see if you were holding a skein of his wonderful yarn. Judges are often impressed with his "topknot to tail" consistency and make mention of this in oral remarks. He also gathers praise for his size, substance of bone, fleece coverage and overall conformation. Our boy is easy to handle and has a gentlemanly way with the ladies thus far. He is indeed the entire package! Zombie's first cria has arrived and he did not disappoint! Z Rock's Carlos is a true black one to watch. His juvi fleece placed 5th at the National fiber Extravaganza this past July. We are showing him in halter and fleece at the Carolina Celebration Feb 2019 and in fleece at TXLON also in Feb 2019. Zombie is bred to Carlos's dam for a repeat of that successful pairing. She is Due in May 2019. He is also bred to our best gray producer for a cria that promises to be something very special in May of 2019!
