We had a notion from the moment he hit the ground that Charley Waite was something special, and he hasn't disappointed us! His fleece has absolutely glowed with luster from day one, and he carries the wave-to-twist lock style that has become synonymous with elite quality. Add to that extreme fineness, great density and uniformity, plus a perfect frame and calm, macho disposition to give you the makings of a great herdsire. Charley is a 2nd generation Champion, out of the prepotent sire, SBS Crown Prince (Crown Royale x Arizona Sage), who is a 7x Champion and has garnered 14 Get-of-Sire blue ribbons...and counting. His dam is out of 6Peruvian Silver King and Fruzane Noir. We may sound a bit biased, so don't take just our word for it. Charley's histogram stats and biopsy results prove with sound, objective data that he IS fine, he IS dense, and he IS uniform! In Charley's short show career, he has amassed three Championships and a Judges Choice. He never finished lower than a blue ribbon in the halter ring, and also received the Best Luster award at the AOA Fleece Show. Charley's cria are hitting the ground and they are outstanding. Whether you base breeding decisions on science, or on show winnings, Charley deserves serious consideration for your girls. Charley's biopsy results have arrived, and they are great: 53.6 follicles / mm2 9.1:1 ratio between secondary and primary fibers 5.9 micron differential between primary and secondary fiber diameters SD primaries = 2.2; SD secondaries = 2.6 Charley's fleece is very uniform, as evidenced by the very low SD numbers and close differential. Also, the majority of his primary fibers fall within the diameters of his secondary fibers, which further verifies the uniformity, and explains why his fleece has an incredible handle and feels silky soft (and the judges agree!!) 2014 6-SAMPLE GRID HISTOGRAM (AFD, SD, CV, CF) #1: 15.3, 3.6, 23.9, 100.0 #2: 15.1, 3.5, 23.1, 100.0 #3: 16.8, 4.1, 24.6, 100.0 #4: 15.2, 3.7, 24.2, 100.0 #5: 16.8, 4.2, 24.8, 100.0 #6: 14.7, 3.5, 23.9, 100.0 BREEDING DISCOUNTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING: ** Drive-by ** Breeding to dams with biopsy of 45+ follicles per sq. mm ** Breeding to champion female ** multiple breeding package

MONT BLANC DAUGHTER BRED TO SILVER STONE

AHILYA

SuriOpen (Female)Medium Brown
AOA# 35117827DOB: 7/17/201410 yrs
Ahilya is named after a luxury scarf designer and it's evident as to why that was chosen as that scarf around her neck is an extremely unique look. Mostly she's just called by the name Scarf and there is so much more to her that is unique. She is a rare brown Mont Blanc offspring. He is known mostly for siring white and lights. Mont Blanc was an 8 time champion and was 3 time judges choice. HIs EPDs are outstanding ranking in the top 1% in many categories. Mont Blanc is top 1% in AFD, SDAFD, SF, %>30, MSL, and FW. That has to be a top 1% in WOW, too! The bottom of Scarf's pedigree includes the great Accoyo Bruxo twice and of course his prolifically famous son MacGyver once. No big deal, MacGyver was only hersire of the year 7 times. Yes, 7 times!! In addition, there is some grey in the bottom of that pedigree that leads me to believe there is a good chance of producing grey if bred to a grey. Overall, we are talking some great Suri genetics. The one strong asset that Scarf will bring to her offspring is uniformity of fleece. Her standard deviation of average fiber diameter has remained consistent throughout all 3 years of fiber testing thus far. Her SD has been a consistent 4.4 microns even as she has matured and the AFD has risen. At age 1 she had an AFD of 20.4 and she currently has at age 3 years a 26.6 micron AFD. That current AFD is not great, and it's not bad either considering she's a darker Suri alpaca. Another strong indication of the uniformity of her fleece is the remarkably low coefficient of variation of 16.6%. She has a narrow spread of fiber microns in her fleece. Ahilya had her first cria on 9/19/2018 and it is a beautiful beige male. The boy was sired by Whistling Pines Ranch’s herdsire WPR Charley Waite. It looks like the combining of Mont Blanc genetics with Crown Prince genetics has produced a good one. Ahilya has a good amount of grey in the bottom of her pedigree and we’re going to see if she can produce grey. We have bred her to Nebraska Alpaca Company’s grey herdsire Silver Stone for a cria due in June of 2020 and that's been confirmed by an ultrasound.

Description

Boss's sire WPR Charley Waite was named after Kevin Costner's character in the movie "Open Range." We decided to name his son after Robert Duvall's character in the movie. So, we named him Boss Spearman. It also seems very appropriate as this boy is really is "The Boss!" He's got great substance of bone, the stance of a champion, a very healthy size, great looking locks since day one, excellent luster, and a fairly fine fleece with a great handle. If you study his genetics, you can see why Boss has such great attributes. WPR Charley Waite belongs to Chris and Jess Fredericks of Whistling Pines Ranch. Charley Waite is an SBS Crown Prince son and that also makes him a 6Peruvian Accoyo Crown Royale grandson. Crown Prince's dam was the stud production female Arizona Sage. Crown Prince's prepotent genetics were combined with one of Whistling Pines Ranch's very good foundation females, Bailey's Wurzer. Medium fawn Bailey's Wurzer is a great combination of grey genetics via 6Peruvian Silver King and black genetics via Fruzane Noir. Needless to say, all the preceding information shows the top half of Boss's pedigree is quite strong. In addtion to that, the testing done on Charley Waite's fleece tells us it is fine and a very uniform across the blanket. Boss's dam Ahilya is a HHSF Accoyo Lafite's Mont Blanc daughter. Ahilya has good EPDs as she is in the top 7% for both MSL & FW and her sire Mont Blanc has outstanding EPDs as he ranks in the top 1% in 5 EPD categories and almost the top 1% in one more. Mont Blanc is a Woods Edge Accoyo Baron Lafite son and that makes him a son of the great import Baron. Mont Blanc has sired a number of champions and his offspring have great fleece qualities. Other genetics with great potency can be found in the bottom half of Boss's pedigree in the herdsires Ramilo, Grey Poupon, Bruxo, and MacGyver. All parts of his pedigree show that Boss is one well bred son-of-a-gun. He spent last summer in the mountains and is in full fleece and ready to add to your show string and/or herdsire stable. Contact us today and we'll make it happen.
