Congratulations to our friend Annie Hunt of Willow Wind Farm, for acquiring a share of Avatar. Please contact Annie about Avatar breedings. We are thrilled with Avatar's newest creations - including Delphi's Avella - The 2017 National grey female halter Champion at just over 6 months of age. And congratulations to Avella's new owners, Debbie and Dale Hoerl; Alpacas of Moose Creek Ranch! Many more Avatar crias will be arriving in 2018. Avatar has beautiful crimpy, dense, and fine fleece, but what separates him from other outstanding herd sires, is his phenomenal handle - due to both exceptional uniformity, and very bright, low scale fiber. Cameron Holt, AOBA Senior Judge Trainer and world wide fiber expert, gave the following scores to Avatar's fleece: Fineness: 15 out of 15 ; Handle: 5 out of 5 ; Uniformity of micron: 7 out of 8 ; Crimp: 8.5 out of 10 ; Density: 3 out of 5 ; Brightness: 8 out of 10 ; Lack of medullation: 8 out of 10. His daughter Delphi's Lailah won Color Champion Grey Female Fleece at the 2012 Nationals. His son Delphi's Rama won a Blue Ribbon at the 2012 National Fleece Show, (and then brown Color Champion at the Tenessee Waltz Fleece Show). These two Avatar kids insured Delphi's win of the 2012 Classic Cup for fleece, at the 2012 Nationals. Another standout offspring is Kanaka - an 8X Champion with 1% EPD's in both SD and >30; and 2% EPD's in fineness. While we don't participate in the program, we agree Avatar's son Kanaka's EPD stats do reflect his sire's strong suits. Avatar's many other crias now include Six AOBA National Halter or Fleece Champions, several Futurity Champions, and many many many Multi-Champion and Blue Ribbon show winners, in addition to the winners of many Special Awards, such as the Best Brightness award at the National Fleece Show - the first time this award has been awarded to a grey. Please enjoy viewing some of his lovely crias and their fleeces, shown below. Wooohoo - she delivered her Avatar son July 21st - and he is beautiful as you can see. He has been sold. She is a superb mom - scoring points in every way with her new baby. What a cutie she was - when she was a cria herself - with her beautiful mascara and fluffy little ears. CC just gets prettier every day - she really came into her own this past year. Lovely coverage, straight and strong. A MFI Candyman daughter, from a blue ribbon mom, this little girl comes from royal genetics. CC has excellent apparent density, especially when considering the fineness of her silver fleece. Oh so soft. Fleece tested Nov. 2015 = AFD 18.8 / SD 5.0 / CV 26.8 / CF 97.7 / curve 69.3 Tested 5/25/17 = AFD 17.0 / SD 4.3 / CV 25.6 / CF 100% / curve 86.2 Check out her service sire, GE - (gray enough) - our newest addition! CC has been bred to GE for a cria I am Very excited about - Due Summer of 2019. No charge for boarding here till February. Sale Pending.

Description

This boy has presence galore - at such a young age. His rare and highly desirable lavender rose fleece is very soft and feels quite dense already. From two classic gray parents - Abraxas' genetics are excellent. Avatar is his sire, and his silver mom is a paternal sister to Ike (their sire is MFI Candyman). We would prefer to keep his mom CC - whom we adore - but we'll be letting quite a few of our favorite alpacas go to new homes this Fall. After 25 years of raising alpacas, we're cutting back on the work load, lol. We're not going anywhere, we're just going "tiny farm". ;^)
