We are proud to co-own Trigger with Ron and Kathy Harelstad of RK Ranch. We feel he is going to be a great herdsire based upon genetics and data. His sire Crown Prince is a 2 time Nationals banner winner with 15 Get of Sire championships to his name. His dam Ginger Mist won 2 banners herself. She is a great combination of MacGyver and Torbio genetics. He also has great genetics that are exhibited by his sire, his grandfather CROWN ROYALE, and even his uncle DDF Double Dutch's American Spirit. If you look at all the champion offspring the three of them have produced, then you definitely can tell they are PREPOTENT. We believe Trigger will have that quality, too! So, he has the genetics. The great thing is Trigger also has the histograms exhibiting great fleece stats. Those histograms show his great genetics are maintaining a grade 1 fleece on him for the first 5 years of his life. He has had a histogram for his shearings at ages 3, 4, and 5. Each and every time, his AFD was less than 20 microns and was Grade 1 fleece. The SDAFDs were good and the %>30s were great on all of them. The last histogram's sample was submitted for Trigger to be part of the AOA's EPDs and Trigger is a Top 1% Suri! Check it out by clicking on the EPDs link. Besides those great histogram stats, at 44 months old he had a skin biopsy. He has a density of 59.6 follicles per sq mm, an S/P ratio of 9.6/1, an in-skin secondary AFD of 20.0 microns and an in-skin primary AFD of 25.8 microns, and that means the spread between the two AFDs is a small 5.8 microns. AWESOME! Those statistics show a fine fleece on Trigger, a fleece with a good handle, a fleece where the majority of the primary fibers are in the same range of microns as the secondary fibers, and a fleece with great uniformity. In addition to everything the numbers show about Trigger's fleece he has the following things that they don't. His fleece has the great Suri luster one desires, a consistent lock structure, and great staple length (see the first picture). Trigger also has superb Suri conformation. He has great coverage from the tips of his ears to his toes. That coverage on his head leads to a beautiful Suri head style. Great genetics, lustrous fleece that is fine and dense, and exemplary Suri conformation. Trigger has what you want added to a Suri herd. He is definitely a male that we feel will help us meet the goal we are striving for, a production quality fleece on a show quality Suri!

Agate's sire MacGyver's Armed & Dangerous was an 11 time banner winner and winner of 6 Get of Sires. Armed & Dangerous was both a National and Futurity Color Champion who also did very well at fleece shows after his halter show career was completed. He is known for his own great lustrous fleece that had a great lock structure thoughout and he passed those great fleece characteristics on to his offspring on a consistent basis. He produces champion offspring regularly. He's an elite prepotent herdsire. Agate's dam is a beautiful rose grey female named Rose Quartz Cloud. She was the 2007 National Grey Champion as a juvenile. Her sire Mr. Peruvian Spitfire of LFA was a beautiful dark rose grey that had great fleece that at age 2 was 18.4 micron with only 1.2% greater than 30 micron. The rose grey color was one of many different colors throughout. He consistently passed his fine locks on to his progeny. With those championship grey genetics on the bottom of her pedigree, Agate should have a great chance of producing grey if bred to a grey herdsire. Agate had a histogram done at age 2 with an AFD of 20.8 micron and a standard deviation of 4.6. Her blanket is fawn, but it does have a greyish cast to it and she has a lighter color, a greyish light fawn color, on her face, neck, belly, and legs. At age 6 she had another histogram that showed she had become coarser. We believe she may have been over conditioned and had a bit of fiber blowout. That age 6 histogram was submitted to be part of the AOA's EPDs. Agate is Top 15% for fleece weight and all of her EPDs can be checked by clicking on the EPDs link. Agate had a cria sired by Trigger on 7/25/18. It was a white male weighing 21.4 lbs. He has good conformation including good coverage and a nice head style. His fleece is beautiful. It’s a super lustrous pure white fine fleece with nice icicle locks. We plan to wait until the spring of 2019 to breed Agate for a 2020 cria. We are thinking of breeding Agate to Bold Ruler at that time. She had such a nice cria by a Crown Prince son the first time we thought we'd try out the other Crown Prince son in our herdsire stable. The purchase of Agate does not include a breeding. If you would like her bred to one of our herdsires of your choice, we would need to negotiate an additional fee for that. Also, the purchase of Agate does not include the male cria by her side and he is about ready to be weaned.

Description

Duke is loaded with championship genetics. All 4 of his grandparents are banner winners. The championships include the most prestigious halter shows, Nationals and The Futurity. It was not possible for his sire and dam to be shown and that was unfortunate because they are excellent examples of the Suri phenotype with excellent fleece characteristics. So, let's talk about the sires and dams of Duke's sire and dam. That discussion will show you why it was unfortunate that Duke's sire and dam weren't shown. The sire is RKR Trigger Tripper. Trigger's sire is the recently deceased SBS Crown Prince and Prince was a prepotent herdsire that had 15 Get of Sire wins to his name. Crown Prince was a Crown Royale son and he won two banners at Nationals, won one banner at The Futurity, and won 5 halter show banners overall. He had excellent EPDs and he passed an excellent lock structure on to his offspring. Trigger's dam is a two time banner winner SPAR's MacCluster's Ginger Mist. Ginger Mist's dam is SPAR's Torbio's Magdalena who also produced a National's Judge's Choice Suri Female in SPAR's Vicki's Sweetie Pea. So, Duke's sire Trigger is loaded with champion genetics and those genetics have produced an exceptional fleece. Trigger's fleece has a great lock structure, outstanding luster, and superior fineness as he has maintained a grade 1 fleece through the age of 5 years. The dam is RKR Agate. Agate's sire is MacGyver's Armed & Dangerous. Armed & Dangerous has won numerous accolades not only in halter shows, but in fleece shows and also for his progeny. He has won 5 Get of Sire Championships. In fleece shows he has won a Judge's Choice and a Best Handle. On top of that, not only did he win halter show banners at Nationals and The Futurity, he was the color champion at both of those shows. He won 6 halter show banners overall. Armed & Dangerous like Crown Prince above has prepotent genetics that include great fleece characteristics. Agate's dam Rose Quartz Cloud is a light rose grey female that was only shown once, but it was a big one as she won the color championship at Nationals. So, another national championship is found in Duke's pedigree. So, Duke has all of those great championship genetics in his pedigree. Those genetics show because Duke is a quality Suri. He is a Suri with great conformation, great coverage including a good Suri head style, and exceptional fleece characteristics. He is a Top 10% male in regards to EPD rankings. He has good EPD rankings based upon his 2019 shearing sample and those EPDs can be checked by clicking on the link. His mean staple length EPD is not very good, but on his histogram he had 8.8 inches of staple length in 10 months of growth.
