We are honored to co-own this amazing male with Lunasea Alpaca Farm and Dakini Suri Alpacas. Thank you Lucy Lee and King Fowler of Lunasea Alpacas for producing this stunning male and allowing us to partner with you. Black Ice is truly a once in a lifetime alpaca. He stunned the show world by winning color champion in all eight shows across the country as a juvenile. To top off his first year, he then won the first annual Supreme Champion award at the 2016 AOA Nationals Show. Black Ice's genetics speak for themselves: Chakotah's Midas, Chakotah of CCR Suris, Moon River's Peruvian Durango, Prada's Peruvian Beryl Markhams, Macgyver, and Peruvian Silver Heat. Top color genetics expressed in super royal fineness, extreme density in the lock structure and luster, luster, luster! Due to his density, we chose to shear Ice after his juvie show year. His regrowth staple length is incredible, prompting judges and others to question if he was even sheared when in the yearling show ring. His regrowth fleece is absolutely stunning. Black Ice's 2016 histogram confirmed his fleece is absolutely stunning. His AFD is 15.9 micron with an SD of 4.2. These are incredible fiber stats for a black male, which in fact rival the best of the elite whites. Ice's skin biopsy was analyzed in 2017 by Dr. Norm Evans. Dr. Evans stated: “Midas Black Ice of Lunasea Farm was biopsied as a 24 month old true black Suri male. His 15x scan shows fiber clusters very uniform in shape and placement within his connective tissue. His true density is 63.25 follicles SQ MM of skin and 25 typical fiber clusters show an average S/P of 12.5 to 1. He shows level 4 of 4 gland presence and 50% of his secondary fibers show a level of medullation. 100 secondary fibers averaged 20.2 microns while 50 primary fibers averaged 28.1 microns for a spread of only 7.9 microns. Midas Black Ice AFD on July 8, 2017 figures 20.83 microns." Ice was SHIP classified in June 2017. He has perfect scores of 5 in all conformation categories. His fleece scored a perfect 5 for Uniformity of Color and Fleece Phenotype. He scored 4.5 for Luster and Lock Structure and a 4 for Fineness. Classification scores that again confirm his show ring performance. Black Ice started his breeding career in Oregon in June 2017. He performed like the champion he is and produced multiple blue ribbon offspring for us. We were heart broken when in October 2018, Black Ice suddenly passed away from a blocked urinary tract. His great legacy lives on in his beautiful offspring. We love and miss you Ice... Our first Ice granddaugher, Big Timber's Ali McQueen, won Color Champion at the 2022 CABA/AWE show. Taking after grandpa!!

Cascabel is the offspring of the famous black herdsire Fine Threads Jax and dark brown dam, Bouquet Garni Jax. A legend in the suri alpaca world, Fine Threads Jax out of the famous Alpaca Jack's breeding program was one of the top producing true black herdsires in the country. Bouquet Garni Jax was also a renowned breeding female (from Peruvian Juan), who won first place in the 2004 Futurity and other shows across the country. Cascabel's famous color bloodlines have delivered in this female; she has produced high quality color offspring with fine, dense, lusterous fiber and strong frames. In 2017, Cascabel was classified in the Suri herd classifications score system (SHIP) with top scores. Her conformation scores were all 5s (in a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the best). She scored 5s in the fleece categories for fineness and uniformity of color. For overall fleece phenotype, she scored a 4 out of 5 and she scored 3.5s for uniformity of micron, density and lock structure. Dr. Norm Evans conducted a skin biopsy analysis on Cascabel in 2017 as a 10 year old female. Her density measures 49.5 follicles SQMM and her S/P ratio is 9.9 to 1. She shows level 4 of 4 gland presence and her secondary/primary fiber spread is 11.5 microns as her secondary fibers averaged 19.1 microns and her primary fibers averaged 30.6 microns. Her AFD calculates as 20.26 microns. Dr. Evan commented: "The fineness of Cascabel's fibers at her age shows strong genetics. This 10 year old female shows fiber stats ahead of her time and is a definite keeper". Her fleece is very fine and soft, and her lock style and classic suri head make her a standout in the herd. She is an attentive, gentle mother with lots of milk for her cria. Cascabel's black genetics really shine through. This is one of the reasons we chose to add Cascabel to our foundation herd and we are very happy with that decision. In 2016, Cascabel had a gorgeous true black male cria, Big Timber's Khaya, out of GLR Nico. This male has dense, fine jet black fleece with beautiful luster. Khaya's fleece won Reserve Champion at the 2017 AOA National Fleece Show and he placed first in halter at the 2018 California Classic. In May 2018, Cascabel had a stunningly gorgeous fawn cria sired by Midas' Black Ice. This little female is covered with fleece from nose to toes. Sakura placed first at the 2019 CABA Classic. This girl is royale fine and very dense. She sheared 5.4 lbs of fleece weight for her juvie fleece, with an AFD of 18 microns. In July 2019, Cascabel had a beautiful fawn female sired by Locke's Kristoff. His first offspring and we couldn't be happier! She is loaded with gorgeous, dense suri locks full of luster! Cascabel's sale price excludes her 2019 female cria.

Description

Iced Sakura exhibits the best from the genetic pairing of her sire 12X Champion, Judges Choice and Supreme Champion Mida's Black Ice and her dam, Sea Arye's Jax Cascabel. This beautiful female holds black genetics on both the top and bottom side of her ancestry lines. Her genetics are very rare as her sire, 12X Champion, Judges Choice and Supreme Champion Midas' Black Ice sadly passed away at only the age of 3 leaving just a few offspring. Sakura has beautifully soft, lustrous fleece with full coverage over her strong frame. Her luster, fineness and staple length are exceptional. With her genetic heritage for retained fineness and density from her dam and sire, we expect great things from this female. Take a look at her sire and dam's fiber stats and you will see what we mean. Sakura was biopsied at 25 months in 2020. Her density measures 47.5 follicles SQMM and her S/P ratio is 9.6 to 1. Her S/P spread is only 9.7 microns and she shows level 3 of 4 gland presence. Her AFD micron is 22.46. Sakura has excellent bone, perfect for good reproductive capacity. She is a great mother, with easy birthing history, lots of milk and excellent maternal skills. She was bred to multi champion and Judges Choice GLR McQueen in 2020. Sakura had a gorgeous light fawn female cria on July 5, 2021, Ali McQueen. Ali placed first in a competitive class of nine at the 2022 AOA National Halter Show and won Color Champion at the 2022 AWE show. Sakura gave birth in August 2024 to a stunning bay black female sired by Zoltar. We really love this little girl! Sakura is truly the whole package and will elevate any color breeding program.
