Congratulations to Larry and Darla Goodrich on the purchase of Katana. Katana is perhaps our most promising alpaca of the 2010 group. His conformation is second to none. This boy has very strong bone, proportion, and holds himself like he knows it to be true. Katana means sword in Japanese, and from the start he stood straight and proud. Katana's fleece is very bright and consistent with a medium frequency high amplitude crimp style. It is extremely uniform, fine, and organized. All these attributes come together in giving Katana a very pleasant handle with buttery fleece. Needless to say, we were very proud when Katana took FIRST PLACE in the True Black Juveniles class at GWAS, a level V show. Katana is a Misty Ridge Altair's Samaurai boy. A judge said of Samaurais fleece: “I could handle this fleece all day, incredibly bright, beautiful density. This is what we as an industry need to be breeding for”. And the latest: Katana takes blue AGAIN at the National Western Stock Show ...and the COLOR RESERVE! Good job Katana! The judge said he had fleece that was inky black that was incredible to handle. This medium silver gray female is an extremely nice young female for the money we are asking. She has GREAT bloodlines with Danko (originally from Patagonia)as a Grandsire. She has 12 ancestors in her pedigree and HALF are either Rose Gray or Silver Gray. She is sired by "Patagonia's El Corralero". She has a great chance of producing gray. She has great fleece with crimp, fineness, outstanding staple length, and very uniform. She is also very cute with markings to include mostly white on her face, some white on her ears, a white tuxedo bib down the front of her neck and chest, and 4 white "bobby" socks from her knees down. She has a very uniform blanket with only a couple very small spots (50 cent piece size). We didn't even know she had these spots until we sheared her this past spring. Her mom, Pancit, is an outstanding mother with good milk and is very attentive to her crias. She has great conformation with straight legs and an excellent bite.
