You want genetics, Anvil's got them! His sire, Black Beau of PVA, is a 4th generation champion out of Diamonte of PVA who's sire is the great Kobe of PVA. His dam is Eagle Valley Zambia. She is a daughter of the renowned Pucara Kahuna and is a stud production female. Al Cousell at Pucara said Zambia is one of the best Kahuna girls ever produced and that seems pretty likely as she produced the 2018 AOA Nationals Light Male Supreme Champion. Those genetics have also paid off for Anvil because as a late maturer he has developed into a solidly built male of good stature with great conformation and a slick, lustrous fleece. You want science saying the fleece is excellent, Anvil's got it! He has good to excellent fleece data in a skin biopsy, histograms, and EPDs. Anvil's skin biopsy report by Dr. Norm Evans from December 2015 is noted below: “MMALP Beau’s Anvil” was biopsied as a 3 year old medium brown suri male. His ARI# is 32403411. His 15X scan shows fiber clusters that are very uniform in shape and placement within his connective tissue. His density is 52.75 follicles SQ MM of skin and his S/P ratio from 25 fiber clusters averages 12.7 to 1. Note on all scans that 100% of his secondary fibers are medullated as shown by the red spots in the center of the fibers. He shows level 4 of 4 gland structure. One hundred secondary fibers averaged 23.9 microns while 50 primary fibers averaged 36.6 microns. This equates to a micron variation of 12.7 microns." The histogram at age 3 years 8 mos. shows an average fiber diameter of 23.9 microns and a standard deviation of 5.4 with only 8.1% greater than 30 micron. That data is very good for a dark brown male! He started breeding after that 2016 histogram and his fleece became a bit coarser with a 25.5 micron average fiber diameter. Still good for such a dark male that's breeding. That fleece sample was to be included in AOA's EPDs and Anvil is a top 10% male for AFD, SF, and %>30. All 7 categories show he will most likely improve each one at least a little bit in his progeny. Check them out by clicking on the EPDs link. A multitude of attributes you want in crias are found in Anvil. He is a proven herdsire and has a few crias on the ground. The two that are registered are very nice. Anvil is showing he improves upon the females to whom he has been bred. We proudly co-own Anvil with Leslie Rebtoy's Healing Springs Suris.

Grace is the daughter of Electrofyre, 9 time Judge's Choice winner including 4 of them at the largest shows in the country. Electrofyre has Ramilo as his grandsire on the top. Ramilo won 25 Get of Sire 1st place ribbons and his son Phoenix, Electrofyre's sire, was part of that 25th win. The bottom of Electrofyre's pedigree is a Pucara Kahuna daughter! That makes the top part of Grace's pedigree an outstanding combination of great white herdsires in Ramilo, Phoenix, Electrofyre and Kahuna and it's no wonder that her sire had such an outstanding show career. The bottom of her pedigree is filled with outstanding true black herdsires in Midas Touch, King Kong, Kobe of PVA, and Lebron of PVA. Overall, Grace has outstanding champion genetics. Grace's fleece is a very pure white and has luster galore! The locks are an open layered lock structure and the lock structure is very consistent throughout the fleece. The fleece is extremely dense and has good staple length regrowth. The sample we sent to Yocom-McColl for EPD testing came back with a grade 3 AFD of 25.3 microns. It has a good standard deviation of AFD of 4.6 microns and a great coefficient of variation of 18.3%. The EPDs can be seen by clicking on the link. In addition to her awesome fleece, Grace has solid confirmation and fleece coverage. Her fleece, though, is the reason why we were interested in having Grace as a production female because we feel that when bred to some of our outstanding herdsires the results will be excellent. On July 3rd, 2018, Grace had a 16.7 lb. dark fawn male sired by our herdsire Anvil. We named him Skyfyre and he has a great Suri phenotype and has a fine, dense, and lustrous fleece that is nicely locked. Skyfyre placed 2nd in a tough juvie class of 6 at GWAS in 2019 (first in his class was the RC) and was again 2nd in his class at the 2020 AOA National Halter Show. Unfortunately, Covid-19 cancelled the rest of the spring 2020 shows. On July 18, 2019, Grace had her second cria. It was an 18.2 lb. white female sired by our herdsire Comet. One can see in the picture she has great conformation, great fleece coverage, and a fleece that exhibits luster, fineness and organization. On June 14, 2022 Grace had 16.6 lb. white female cria sired by Duke. The white female cria from 2022 that is by her side will be included in the purchase making it 2 for the price of 1.

Description

The genetics in Skyfyre's pedigree are superb. The genetics in the males and females found in the pedigree are not only siring and producing banner winners, but they are also siring and producing National Supreme Champions. Skyfyre's sire is MMALP Beau's Anvil and while Anvil had only a so-so show career, his sire was Black Beau of PVA and Black Beau was Color Champion at The Futurity, Nationals, and The Suri Network All Suri Fleece Show. Black Beau has sired champions and those genetics are in Anvil and now Skyfyre. For Skyfyre it isn't just the herdsires adding a lot of great genetics to his pedigree, his sire Anvil's dam is a National Champion Kahuna daughter named Eagle Valley Zambia. Zambia produced the 2018 AOA Nationals Light Suri Male Supreme Champion. Zambia has had 6 crias sired by 4 different males and four, or two thirds of them, have won banners. Zambia is a stud production female. Skyfyre's dam Grace's Kinley By Electrofyre was sired by 9 time Judge's Choice winner WLK Electrofyre and it's proven that he is siring champions as he has 14 Get of Sire wins to his name. Electrofyre also sired the back to back Nationals Light Sure Male Supreme Champion in 2016 and 2017 named Electrofyre's Cosmic Dust! Skyfyre's dam's dam does not quite have the genetic notoriety of the rest of the pedigree, but it does contain two great champion black males in Kobe of PVA and King Kong. From top to bottom, Skyfyre's pedigree is that of a winner. Skyfyre has a great Suri phenotype and when he was shown at GWAS, the judges loved his look.. His lustrous fleece has a consistant lock structure across his body. The fleece is fine and dense. EPDs were considered when we put Skyfyre's sire Anvil with his dam Grace to produce him. Anvil is top 10% for AFD, SF, and %>30 while Grace is top 25% for SDAFD and FW. Grace is almost top 25% for MSL, too. So, Anvil was chosen to improve Grace's weaker areas and vice-versa. It only shows that if Skyfyre didn't have a nice fleece on him it would be a surprise if you look at both the genetics mentioned earlier and the fleece statistics of his sire and dam. The judges at GWAS also commented that Skyfyre has a fine fleece that is soft and has a slick handle. Estimated EPD rankings can be seen by clicking on the link. The EPDs have been estimated based upon his genetics. We finally had his fleece submitted for EPDs in 2021. This is a lot longer than we ever wanted it to be to get that second histogram done and submitted for EPDs. We are disappointed and we don't believe it's accurate. We wonder if our shearer took a belly area sample from the blanket. We leave it up to the shearing team to get the sample. When we get enough staple to get a nice sample, we will get it tested again. But in the meantime, we want to be forthright and post the histogram we did get for people to see. He doesn't have the handle of a 32 micron fleece with a 10 standard deviation. His fleece has a soft, slick handle.
