Aussie Maku

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Fawn
AOA# 30672093DOB: 9/13/200816 yrs
We knew it! The 1st daughter sired by Aussie Maku received JUDGES CHOICE at the 2014 Empire as well as the fawn fleece color championship. She also was awarded Fawn Reserve Color Champion at 7 months of age at the 2014 GWAS where over 800 alpacas were shown in extremely tough classes. (Shantilly is now owned by Christine and David Houseworth of Cabin View Alpacas.) Maku is one of a kind and we knew that his offspring would be the same. Flawless conformation and dense, dense fleece that is very uniform. We have bred him to females of color. He made grey!!! We bred Maku to Silver Spirit and we got a lovely classic rose grey female with a fleece that feels like a dream. This is one serious male! Other offspring owned by Virginia Breeze and also K-Ran Alpacas have received Judge’s Choice banners in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Maku is not a common household name but his family tree is spectacular from the back to the front. We're thrilled to have this male on our stud row! Co-owned with Aussie Acres Alpacas

Description

Evinrude is named for the engine that doesn't quit and neither does he. As a cria he was hysterical, kind of everyone's annoying little brother but he has the qualities to back up his name and actions. Square, solid heavy bone, compact frame, correct bite and fleece that doesn't quit. From the outside, you wonder if we did a little something hinky because he could be mistaken (albeit briefly) for a Suri with the silk and drape of his fleece. Inside, he's dense, long stapled, bright, fine and uniform. Just wonderful! If you're looking for an powerful engine for your breeding program, take a look at this young male.
