Ginny has produced the two best cria on our farm thus far. One has gone on to bring home multiple championships and the other looks like she could do the same when she is old enough. We purchased Ginny from Morning Beckons because she had great genetics and was a perfect match for Elliot. She is a Legend's Challenger daughter crossed with Danko/Patagonia's Drake. We know from experience that both of those genetic lines cross very well with Enlightenment genetics and that is what we have had success doing. Ginny has a very soft fleece with great structure. More importantly, she produces cria with unbelievably soft fleece with great structure and blinding brightness.

Description

We only produced one cria in 2017, so we spent much of the winter looking to purchase a cria or two that would make in impact in the show ring for 2018. Little did we know, we already had that cria right under our nose. In his first show, Buckwheat walked into the North American and found a very large and competitive class. He walked out as the reserve champion! Buckwheat is the combination of two of the best grey genetics in the country. His sire is the famed Snowmass Enlightenment, one of the most prepotent grey males in the country. He is known for having, and producing cria with, perfect conformation and magnificent fleece. Per Snowmass Alpacas, "Enlightenment is the most magnificent grey stud we have ever produced" His dam, who is just as important in the equation, is our own silver grey MBFL Ginny. She is a large and very "alpha" female with a fine fleece that shows great structure. She has been producing ribbon winning cria and hit it out of the park with this one! We chose this breeding pair because Ginny is a daughter of Legend's Challenger of KPR. Combining these genetics has had great success over the years and this is yet another example. Buckwheat's fleece is a true black and is as black as they get, with no white fibers. He exhibits a very fine and dense fleece that is consistent in micron and structure from front to back. Judges Amanda and Jude both commented on his great consistency before awarding him 1st place. All judges have also commented that his degree of brightness is what separates him from most of the competition. You can see that his fleece shines before you even open it up. His Conformation is also top notch. He has a large frame that is very boxy and straight. He has grown into a strong male with great substance of bone.
