LuTau is a striking appaloosa male that has a good chance of being homozygous for the appaloosa gene, so you "serious" appaloosa breeders need to check this guy out! LuTau's fleece has incredible crimp, structure, and staple. If you are breeding for appaloosas, or are even considering breeding for this unusual pattern, LuTau is not one to miss! His fleece is one to behold - great architecture in the long staple, with blinding brightness and consistency. And check out his histogram from a sample submitted of both light and dark fibers; AFD 17.6, SD 3.6, Curvature 64.3. That SD of 3.6 is fantastic when considering the sample was both his light and dark fawn colors! LuTau is the first cria from Vintage Cashmere's U-Taupe-Ia, a male with the appaloosa gene on both sides of the family (Hannaruh and Chiquita). LuTau's dam is the amazingly-patterned appaloosa, Enchanted Hill Appalucy, who also has the appaloosa gene on both sides of the family (Maria's Angel, LTD Treasure, and Xus). That's FIVE different appaloosa genes coming together in this male! In 2016, he stormed through his show career, , never taking anything lower than a blue ribbon! On April 9, 2016, LuTua took the blue in walking fleece and the blue in halter at the California Classic, and on October 23, 2016 received another blue ribbon at the Alpaca Breeders Invitational in Oregon! In April 2017, LuTau finished his show career with yet another blue ribbon at the California Classic. LuTau has started his breeding career, settling his first girl in September 2017. We look forward to what this young male will produce!

Description

Dippin is a daughter of Accoyo Vengador. She is one of his very last, and, as Vengador died in 2009, they are getting rarer and rarer. Though not, perhaps, quite as famous as Caligula, Legacy and Hemingway, Vengador is nonetheless an impact sire of the highest caliber. His name appears in the lineage of today's top-producing alpacas -- often more than once. Dippin's dam, Autumn Frost, is a daughter of the fantastic Peruvian Augusto -- sire of MFI Peruvian Wellington, MFI Brock, Snowmass Accoyocusani and grandsire and ancestor to hundreds of champions and elite animals. She has been a top producer for Kendall Creek Farm; indeed, the fact that she was born there and still resided there 15 years later is a testament to her quality. It appears that Dippin is the spitting image of her sire: heavy-bodied, solid, and long, with a lovely head and full topknot. She has good bone and coverage, and her proportions are very balanced. Her disposition is calm and quiet and she is a very easy keeper. Dippin's most notable feature is, as is befitting of her lineage, her fleece. She possesses that incredible combination of fineness and density that can be readily appreciated with the hand. Her histogram at age 4 boasted an excellent AFD of 18.2 and, even better, an SD of 3.6 and only 0.5% > 30 microns. Although at age 8, her crimp has lost some of its amplitude, it has lost none of that high-frequency that Vengador is known for producing. In studying the descendants of Accoyo Vengador, it appears that he carried the tuxedo grey gene (masked by his white coloring). If this is true, it would give Dippin a 50% chance of having inherited this gene -- again, masked by white -- from her sire. Dippin was bred to a grey Orlando Cloud son and had a male cria on September 17, 2016. Dippin's cria is jet black, with no white spots at all. Dippin birthed easily and is a terrific mother. Dippin Dots was bred to appaloosa herdsire, Mr. Butterscotch, for a September 2017 cria and did she ever deliver! She gave us a beautiful spotted male who has bundles of personality and fiber! Dippin will be bred this Spring to one of our blue-ribbon appy studs, Escher, LuTau or Patriot, for a 2019 cria. We'll be seeing spots again!
